Monsieur Derriere de la Basinette..

Don't talk to me about 1000 feet up.

I have enough trouble with people who are 40 years older than me.

BasinBum -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/16/2003 3:53:28 AM)

You mean like the guy with the oxygen tank who still smokes cigarettes?

David Cutler -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/16/2003 3:56:38 AM)

Erm no. He just looks like he's 40 years older than me.

He's really only 28 and has had a wild life-style.

BasinBum -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/16/2003 3:58:19 AM)

Lucky ****!

David Cutler -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/16/2003 4:04:55 AM)

'ere! i've just noticed. . . .

My profile says 'Super Member'.

I always wanted to be Superman when I was 8 so I suppose I should be happy with a title 'Super Member'.

The Basin is a microcosm by which we all live......

Like, I'm all, 'praise be to the valley'.

I know him . He's 15 or so.[sm=frown.gif]

BasinBum -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/16/2003 7:12:33 AM)

I've probably yelled at him once or twice than. Not about flying high unless there was full scale helis in the area. I tend to be pretty outspoken at the field, I know hard to believe huh?

well, i had never seen the guy before in my life, and i don't talk to too many people there, just carl and his buddy hose, george if he is there, and usually the guy next to me in the pitts. however, i do agree completely about you get what you put in. as for the 40 years older, i am 13, so he was probably about 50 or so. oh well. after he said that i had probably one of the best flights i ever had just to prove him wrong.

BasinBum -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/22/2003 6:20:32 AM)

Hello Basinites! Spent the day at the Giant Scale funfly today gawking at the big planes and even flying the GP PW. It was hot as heck out on the flight line but very comfortable under the trees in the pits. All the usual suspects were there plus the Giant Scale club with a combined eight thousand years of modeling experiance.

Joe Kelly took pictures and posted them on the Internet, and then he went to the Giant Scale event and took these ;){Joe's GS pics} for your viewing pleasure. They will only be up for a few weeks so enjoy them while you can.

tkigar -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/22/2003 3:56:44 PM)

Great pics.......take a few to load them all but well worth the wait. Thanks Joe Kelly for taking, and BasinBum for posting.

Here is the best photo of the Basin I have ever seen, compliments of SAM G.

outssider -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/26/2003 2:06:12 AM)

Wow.....great picture Richard.....your right!! it's the best I've ever seen...I have seen a few [:D]

I wonder If I was there that day[:-]...it's definitely a weekday and it's early afternoon....[8|]. id say 2 to 5 pm depending on the time of year...[;)]..(going by shadows from the trees in the pits)

p.s.... you missed a great crash on Wednesday around 4 o'clock..... a new jet on it's maiden flight was up about 2 minutes into it's flight when something happened[&:]..... it did a high speed spin from way up high and went right into the weeds close to the entrance to the field at woodly......fire department had to come to put out the fire that developed ....[:o]

The photo was taken Sept. 19, '03, I don't know the time.

Who's Jet was it and do you think there will be any repercussions from the city/ fire dept.?

David Cutler -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/26/2003 2:27:41 PM)

BB,

According to the time stamp on your latest message, you posted it 4 hours from now.

Could you tell me the winning lottery numbers so I can win next week please?

Thanks,

-David C.

BasinBum -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/26/2003 2:59:47 PM)

No but I can predict the future at the Basin this weekend.

DJ will crash another large plane, blame something other than himself and through it in the trash.

Ken will crash someones trainer and use DJ's excuse.

Someones plane will get loose and run through the pits.

Someone will crash and yell "radio hit" even though it was not.

It will be hot on the flightline but the wind will be straight down the run way.

Old guys will sit at the tables and point out what everybody is doing wrong.

I will fly on Sunday and have a good time.

David Cutler -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/26/2003 3:30:02 PM)

I believe Banjo Bill has bought a YS110 to fit into his 40 size Spitfire, so he should be the leader in the 'flying-at-one-foot-above-the-deck' warbird race.

We also now have two Rons with the Graupner 3D see-through plane so we'll be able to see formation climbing flat spins.

But the question that is everybody's lips is 'When will Ken be flying his spinning Pepsi can mobiles?'

eddy -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/27/2003 6:46:33 AM)

mr basin bum you are a geaser that does nothing but wine , **** , talk about other people and look for things to complain about. if the basin is so bad why don't you go fly you'r model in hell. there you may find other idiots that have nothing else to do but talk trash of others. calling Bob dirty bob is not cool. if you don't like jets its probably because you don't have the balls to put 10k in the air.

BasinBum -> RE: Sepulveda Basin (9/27/2003 7:20:42 AM)

eddy, chill out dude. We talk all the time at the field and if you go back and read more of the thread I think you'll see you've go me all wrong. Where did you get the impression that I don't like jets?

Yes, I poke fun of things and people (and myself) at the Basin because I see a lot of humor there but I also defend it as I really like it there because of the people.

And for the record, I havn't said anything here that I don't say to people face to face.

All complete garbage I'm afraid.

I'd suggest you need a little more experience than just 5 postings before making such outrageous statements. You obviously don't have any judgment about what is tongue in cheek and what is really meant, and it would benefit you a lot if you learned a bit.

Tell you what, go to the basin and see how your popularity compares with Basin Bum's.

David,
Eddy is very friendly and well liked at the field, he just needs to read a bit more here.

Well, all I can say, is that sentence showed who you really are, and completely disproves every word Eddy wrote.
