Hi all,
I've just come into possession of an old Planes Plus Dream 110 kit. It came without the instructions. It looks pretty straight forward but there are a few bits I could use some explaination on. Does anyone out there have a set of instructions for this kit. It's no longer marketed and the old web site has long been closed down. Here's a picture of the bits I'm wondering about. There are several laser cut plywood bits and a couple of carbon fiber pieces that I'm wondering where they go. Any help out there?

I have a set of instructions. Send your address to my private e-mail and I'll send you a copy. Might take a couple of days as we are currently iced in. pietn38b@aol.com Jim

Phil,

I have no clue what the model looks like but if I'd have to guess, the front piece looks like a front tank compartment bulkhead. The round section typically holds the throat of the tank. The small rectangular pieces look like servo trays (actually choke and throttle servo trays... for a 23cc gas engine?) while the larger piece with holes and slots in it, looks like a battery/radio plate designed to hold lipo's and other radio equipment (VR's or Rx's). Again, more speculation but the model is probably designed to either be glow or electric with the right pieces of wood provided for either type of setup. The holed plate is actually probably intended for a 3 x 4s = 12s lipo setup (typical on a 72"+ model) with space for the three packs and associated velcro straps.

The carbon rods look like wing joiners for split wings (facilitating transportation). Alternatively, they may be arrow shafts intended for pushrods.

If I'm not out in the corn fields, I hope this helps.

David.

Phil,
Bob Pastorello did an excellent set of assembly instructions for the Dream 110. You can download them here:
http://www.rcaerobats.net/Dream110/DreamInstructions.htm
They should answer all your questions as the parts you pictured are shown in his instructions.

The Dream 110 (IMHO) is a beautiful pattern bird. I saw one of these fly at SEFF '06 (electric powered ). I was lucky enough to pick up a NIB ARF in early '07 from a hobby shop in GA. Planes Plus had gone out of business sometime before that. I'm planning to do an electric version as well ..... when my infatuation with SPA birds wanes a bit .

Thanks Ed, that's just what I was looking for. This kit was just given to me, free! So I'm excited to get going on it. From what little I've found about it, it seems to be a good flyer.

Thanks again!
Phil

I just bought a used Dream 110 and would like to take the tail section apart for shipping. The horizontal stab is loose but I think it may be pinned by the vertical stab that looks to be glued in place. Can anyone tell me if this is the case? I don't want to break it if it is.

Thanks!

Thanks Ed, that's good to know. I'm trying to see if I can pull the horizontal stab through but it seems to be held in place by something I can't see. It does wiggle back and forth freely however.

I have a flying Dream 110 and two on the shelf Quickturn. I''l be home tonight, if you can wait until tomorrow evening I can pull one down to see how it's mounted. I believe the flying one is epoxied in place, but yours may have a joiner tube of sorts. I might also have the instructions if you need them, I could email them to you if I do.

OK. I got it out. I used a utility knife and cut along the seams of the horizontal stab and I was able to free it. Unfortunately, I had to cut an elevator half off but I should be able to reattach it with new hinges.

Mark, instructions would be wonderful! This was an electrified plane but I intend to put a YS 91 or 110 four stroke in it.

One other question. We're there wood beams for engine mounts or is the firewall built flat?

Thanks,

Joe

Sorry Joe, I did not get a chance to check emails while home. I may have an e-file copy of the instructions and will forward them if I do. The motor mount has beams (really plates), so not firewall. To mod it would take a lot of cutting. I have the Dave Brown Vibra Damp (I think that's what  it's called) in mine (YS 1.20) with a nose ring (not installed by me). I actually like this set-up pretty well, fairly easy install.
