I am sorry to hear about your loss. It made me think about my work shop (garage) and all that I have in it. Good luck with your next project, I enjoyed reading your build. I have a Spad on the building now.

Rich

Great News...My Spad is FINISHED! I'm really happy w/ the final outcome. I want to thank all those on this site for their input. My "Custom" landing gear came out really well along w/ the leather Cockpit Combing. I found a great source for decals, Callie Graphics which helped w/ the rudder Decals and the "Hat in the Ring". The plane weighs in at 17 lbs and the Balance is perfect to the plans spec. I'm going to wait till next year for the First Flight.

Thanks Again,

Ray.

Hey guys, I have a Spad built and ready to fly. You can see pics in my profile, (I think). My question to those that have flown it is,
Do you have to change the attitude of the top wing? A guy at a Dawn Patrol flyin said he had to add an 1/8" under the back of the top wing to make it fly right.
What do you guys think? Maybe he just built his wrong??

All depends on what one means by "fly right". Mine flew better without aileron differential.

That's a real nice Spad there Spiritwind.

I have not seen the instructions for the BUSA Spad, but if it is anything like the Pup and the Ne-17, they recommend that the flat underside of the wing be level with the thrust line (or Centre Line) of the fuselage.

I would start there with equal incidence on both wings and make changes if required later.

Good luck with your maiden!

Hugh

Sorry to hear about your garage fire. That happened to my next door neighbor. Except my smoke detector went off in my detached garage, wired into my house. It saved my garage, but not his.

I'm looking for the top view for my Spad. I'm looking for Frank Luke 3 views. I'm not ready for paint just yet.

G-62 for power...
