Looks like a decent model. Even has periscope guards. Painting was crude, and covered everything in green, but other then that, this looks like what we have been waiting for, Curious to see what the electornics looks like and how easy it will interface with a DBC. Also would like to hear what it sounds like. It will be a shame if its sounds great but not easy to wire up a DBC, THen I'll be forced to make a decision, Throw in old HL board so it can be made IR ready.

Are those tools molded on , or do they just look like that because of the warehouse paint job?

I hope the plastic suspension is off that HL material, than a standard polystyrene. It might be good enough for indoor use, but take it outside like at the DAK battlefield ...

Also, those wheels should be able to sleeve them with brass, so the plastic doesn't wear out.

Any news on a release date?

Finally some good pictures. Only a couple of areas that look off. 1st in the thickness of the nose casting. No way to know until someone opens one up to see if that is for gearbox clearance, but if not then a little dremel work could fix that.

Also the front upper hull where it turns inward has some sharp angles. As I recall the casting here should compound curves. Again a little dremel work would blend that in. Hope the plated hull version is next along with the short barrel 75 turret

Any word on the control modules? I would guess that RX18 would be in all of these unless there is something better coming along there also.

Hi Borealis, the post translates into something like:
"At the Torro stand we meet Mr. Fendt that informed us about the new Sherman.
The model at the fair is the first version, he told us that some details ought still to be reviewed.
What we noticed inmediately is that the roadwheels have rubber bands. We could also see that the Tracks are plastic with metal parts."

Regards
Jose

That's Matorro, I don't think it will have an heng long board. Something like the Sturmtiger/Kingtiger is more likely imho.
As for the rubber wheels, I already read the description, but some pictures seem to show the roadwheels without them.

Thats right, I forgot that its not HL.....

As for the road wheels, it looks like some were just covered in green paint in some places....bad paint overspray? Also look at the pics of the bottom, look like that plastic was more of a olive color which looks better than the green paint

It's overspray on the rubber.

That's the Mato Toys M4A1(76)W. The one pictured is a prototype missing the casting textures, foundry marks, etc. The electronics are all new, not HL or Matorro.

The wheels have rubber tires with raised lettering, the tracks have metal end connectors with plastic track blocks, just like the real thing.

Factory is ready to start cranking them out as soon as Murphy fixes a couple of things that are not to his satisfaction. Did you notice the adjustable idlers?

The front nose bugs me too, but if we cannot fix it in this release, we will for the next when we redesign the gearbox to make room for the 3-piece and early single brake front cover.

I'm on Blitz's list as soon as they show up. Adding foundry marks and casting numbers will really be nice. Did they plan to add some casting texture also. Going to the old 3 piece bolted trans cover would need a new gearbox but it sure will open up the number of M4 versions that could be release. Whats the word on a plated hull version?

We've got 15 more on the way. Can't say which will be next but M4s and M4A3s are in the pipeline. We figured out 21 different versions and settled on the 16 most popular. Economics will decide how many make it to market.

Yes, the right parts will have casting textures molded in.

16 Versions? How the hell will i be able to figure out which one I want. Does the EASY 8 fall into this catagory. I dont know if the VVSS was correct for it. I like the long gun versions. Does anybody know?

I like German and Russian armor, but the Sherman looks great. It is on my "buy" list along with the HL Jagdpanther.
