thanks dc2man, we used the og beetle mold and then just made our own roof, hood and side scoops, now that we have the molds it is pretty easy, but making them was alot of work...

yeah man i get you, wait till you see the engine that im getting for my birthday in a few weeks may the 26th,the g270 cad four bolt raceported/blueprinted engine, its going to be scary,i spoke to people in germany who had them and even in hobbytheks shop they were telling me it wasnt a good choice because it was just too powerfull and hard to control lol my delight........they are very nice and genuine in that shop because they are not always trying to sell you the most expensive stuff the whole time...... man its going to be insane with the jetpro pipe......weighing in at a hefty 750 euro its not cheap but sure the way i look at it is its a one time solution for power with out spending money here and there on upgrading this and that to the engine in search for power the whole time.

i even have the rims upgraded to elcon reinforced adaptors to take /handle the power

man stay tuned here because these videos with this new engine are going to be INSANE !!!

hope it alright to post this link here......

hey victory man

it weighs too much and thats why i need to upgrade to very good power....at the moment the weight is slightly getting the better of it.

i would imagine double what that hpi weighs...... the elcon parts are heavy on there own anyway.

even just on the rear...

i even have a lot of weight at each wheel, alloy hubbs, hyrdro alloy brakes, elcon alloy rim adaptors.....rims...lol list goes on....

must weight it now though man,ill let you know.

being honest its nice to have it looking the part alright but i would rather performance over looks,as these parts were put on because standard they dont handle much abuse offroad....

so whats the goings on with this fg then recently...

so as i mentioned im awaiting my cad G270 raceported four bolt zenoah now 26th next month and as i had time on my hands yesterday evening,i thought i would take out and shelf the 27.2 o neills raceported motor in it and get it ready.

so took it in to work bench and stripped engine out and took off jetpro, all is in a box now awaiting new engine.also i will be getting a new airfilter k&n for new engine with new outerwears... must mind it now lol

the elcon drivetrain clutch side mount makes engine removal so easy, engine is litterly out within minutes.

so looking forward to this new engine. IT WILL BE MENTAL!!

so thats the latest on my fg,awaiting this 750euro motor.......it will be madness!

here is the link and engine in detail.

ok here is my fg in her current state awaiting her new heart transplant on the 26th of this month, below you will see it in its current state with engine and wiring stripped out....

CANT WAIT TO GET new engine.

here is my to do list

1/ install new cad engine when it comes for my birthday the 26th this month
2/install new alloy radio tray (thanks steven brown)
3/install new hitek steering servo and my ace thunder tiger servo for throttle/hydrobrake set up.
4/install new onboard battery pack
5/ fit new rear rims x2 with the new elcon rim reinforced adaptors
6/ drive it like i stole it then.... and get some vids up......

so there hasnt been much happening with my beetle recently but trust me 26th of this month (my birthday) i will have reached the pinnacle with this machine and dont intend on doing anything else with it (cant possibly upgrade anything else anyway lol) i also plan on keeping it 2wd,my prefernce.

here it is at the moment, looking forward to going at rebuild no#4 lol

must clean it tomorrow and get it ready for its new engine.

hello sj

well i spoke to mr wolfgang lendrich on the phone on and off and he gave me some great info ages ago on the cad g270 motor, firstly he said that the cad engine was in his opinion the most powerfull engine germany had to offer...it has intensive hand modifications done and porting work, also a lot of the engine work is blueprinted including the porting work (meaning exclusive to the tuning company themselves and unique in there own work and specs) blueprinted meaning also information that cannot be disclosed..they feature four bolt head, elastic gasket sealent applied, additional bearing to clutch side.

man i think it is going to be good,i mean he also said they use these in the world championships where allowed in that class.

as the saying goes you get what you pay for well i hop this applies here in this case lol

i asked wolfgang if he could tell me the hp of this engine and he said 6hp.
im guessing that could be nearing 7with tuned pipe...

it does come with manuals and details of the work that was carried out to it he told me,but as some of it is blueprinted i may never know exactly.. maybe in case the work could be copied, but he guaranteed me it is a unique engine.

so just another two weeks and hopefully i will have vids up of this monster,CANT WAIT......been so long sinse i ran this fg that i miss it real bad lol

here is the link,
cheers sj
