Wow, that engine really looks like a "wheelie on demand engine" Great videos Keep them coming!

How many tanks have you driven so far with the engine?

What clutch do you use? I bet that you would gain a lot from switching from the stock if you`re still using this. With so much power the stock clutch may have some problems gripping the cluchbell.

thanks waqr yes it is a mad engine.

i have already 4 tanks run through it now and its going awesome.

i agree with you on the clutch i would love to try an elcon clutch or an fg 3 shoe clutch, that would get unreal grip........

what clutch do you use man?

cant wait to get out with beetle again, busy now working at the moment though.......

*UPDATE*

just placed my first order with an american company, ddm, man are some of there stuff CHEAP.....wow.. (hope this is ok as i didnt post up any links)

ordered a new fg complete offroad filter kit with redneck and cover & outerwears.......i want to really go all out on the filter saftey.....after my first few runs i notied the f1 style filter getting filled up fast with debris and grass....so the option i have chosen above now will be the safest for this new engine.......

I want that engine Looks very good.

It would be interesting with a video were you flattened it out on the tarmac. Just to get an idea of how fast that thing really goes.

Can you take a video of when you are driving on the tarmac?

so my latest on this fantastic beetle is i have it all stripped down and am giving it a good polishing.....

badly needed!!

cant WAIT TO get it out again....

its at the level i always wanted it at now, fully relibale and bulletproff......

i have two jobs to do though.
i must take the diff apart and install extra washers and greese it up,also i may upgrade to ball drive later on.......

for now i will wear out my dog bones first...

also i must fit my front disc brakes to compliment the rear hydros.

here is my finest r/c moment...
these have to be my two favourite pics.... i am going to use this tralier to carry my onroad when i run it,as where i run it requires a bit of a walk to my control spot.

[pics below]

these are just my favourite pics right now of my r/c collection.
and this is just a few of them........

hows it going man.

yeah i agree with you i got the auld addiction bad lol

your right about the fg drivetrain i AGREE fg standard drivetrain cant handle much.its crap.example- even the wheel squares on the drive axles could they not have cut the centers square to fit on the axle square as not to cause slip when the grub screws loosen....mmmm  no they couldnt....they take easy route....some bad designs on fg i will admit....but all manufactures have there glitches.mcd being no differnt in stock form they also need replacing a lot of dogey parts.

and as for fg standard diff cups and dog bones will somebody explain why fg made them out of BUTTER? lol

i dont have to worry now as mine is completly elcon at this stage and i have the diff upgraded also,i just need the fg balldrive eventually which wont be fitted until i wear out the one on it now.....and if you go back a few pages here on this thread you will see a listing of the spec of this fg beetle and i will be honest in saying that there isnt much of fg in it anymore lol

man i love that mcd though aswell they are nice, but it also seems that they need a lot of upgrading also out of thebox.

thats a very nice shell.

would you shell it? lol

RESPECT rc hertz and i apriciate an honest man like your self.

more RESPECT .

Do I need to buy front or rear diskbrakes If I change to the elcon drivetrain or can it be used along with the standard brake?

What parts do I need to buy if I decide to change to the elcon drivetrain?

hey waqr man.

in my opinion it will be the best investment you will ever make, mine cost me a fortune though as i got the helical cut gears etc etc.

all you need is the drivetrain unit and clutch case unit that it comes with, elcon hollow layshaft, elcon spur adaptor, you can use your own gears if you want.
the biggest thing after that is you need the rear alloy elcon lower a-arms and a-arm mounts as you cannot mount the unit with out them.also alloy elcon diff mounts.

all in all its quite costly but well worth it man,you will have an fg for life unbreakable really.

{if you go back a few pages man you will see the complete spec of my elcon parts}.
