I'm using this jet to get my turbine waiver this year and after that, I may look at the F4, but my favorite plane is the F15.
I used to wrench on the F15 in my military life.
I'm sure Glenn is doing everything he can to keep up with us!
There is no Dupli-Color fabric paint on the wheels........just grey primer for now

Hey Mike, any suggestions about the D6 colors?

mikeceleskey -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/11/2009 3:46 AM)

I'll look through my stuff...get back with ya on colors.
Mikey

Hey Greg!
I do not know if the guns will be installed yet.........The 150cc engine is pretty loud.....I just dont know if you are going to hear it over that loud of a engine.. we will get the plane built first, then do some test flights and then we will try the guns later this year[sm=wink_smile.gif] One good thing about a plane this big is that you can install alot of stuff after the fact because there is soooo much room inside! Good to hear from you.........Paul

Hey Tom!
I'm sorry I skipped over you......I did'nt see your post until today[sm=confused.gif]
Right now for the tire color I am using a primer gray.........after Barry gets done with his air brush magic on the wheel covers...I will be looking for a oil base exterior gray house paint. As for the guns??? (Barrys dept.[sm=72_72.gif]) We are thinking with the dummy engine that we will make a super detailed cylinder and Barry will pour cast duplicates and with some other stuff laying around Barrys basement it should look pretty sweeeet!................What are you doing for your guns and engine?? Paul

vogel605 -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/11/2009 11:06 PM)

Hey Ron,
Hope all is well, that's the color scheme I want to do on this one. I have heard there's another "painted" version out there, however I have yet to find it. How are you and Mike progressing on the Halbie's ?.

P.S. the attorney was involved only because that neighbor kid filed a restraining order on Paul after he tried to get the brake cable for the rigging[:D].

Barry

TKFOKKER -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/11/2009 11:12 PM)

Hi Paul
The guns will have to be scratch built out of wood plastic and metal. Glenn can have the cooling barrel made most likely from thin metal burned on Rodger F. lazzer. Final product will get painted with gun metal paint. It's the only way to do it at this point. The dummy engine is still up in the air. If you guys do make those cylinders like that I would be interested in buying some from you. I've been trying to get as much done on the D-8 before the weather gets warm here in Ma. There is a ton of work to do out side from a very destructive winter we had. I lost at least 30 trees in my yard from the worst ice storm on record here. So fun, fun, cleaning up.
Keep up the good work, post some pic's man!!
Tom

vogel605 -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/11/2009 11:23 PM)

Hey Tom,
Long time no talk, I still have to figure out how to execute the motor and make sure it's durable enough for the task. I'll get with ya in the next week or two and hopefully I'll have some idea on the materials etc. Your DVIII is just plain off the hook!!. It's great hearing from ya, I hope to see ya at some of the events this year. Have a great day.

Barry

Eindecker_pilot -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/12/2009 1:13 AM)

Art was right... 1/3 scale is now considered small. It figures, I'd just gotten there. Paul, you should know that Art is talking up half-scale stuff over here in Indiana. I can see the arms race brewing already.... :)

Hi Barry,

Your DVI is looking great. I really like that color scheme. A club member built a 1/3 scale DVI from his own plans and used that scheme, looks good in the air.

Mike has more done on his Halbie than I. Mine is moving along slowly.

What's next a 1/2 scale DH2? Keep up the good work I'll be watching!

Ron

Eindecker_pilot -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/12/2009 1:53 AM)

1/2 scale DH-2.... aaahhhhaaaahhhgggghh (picture Homer Simpson drooling).....

TKFOKKER -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/12/2009 2:15 AM)

Hi Barry
I was talking with Glenn tonite and he mentioned you found some 100% linen at some fabric store? WHERE??? I need a bunch myself. Glenn will not have his for quite some time. That stuff is hard to find. Your doing a great job, keep up the good work. Thanks for checking in on my build. Talk to ya soon,
Tom

vogel605 -> RE: Half Scale Fokker DVI (3/12/2009 11:51 AM)

Hey Guys,
Paul picked up the fabric from a local fabric store, I do not believe it's 100% linen, but it looks great and it seems to have worked very well and I'm sure Paul can pass the info along. Thanks Ron, I'm looking forward to seeing the Halbies. Have a great day guys.

Barry

Hey Tom,
The fabric store I went to has one roll left of 100% linen(don't mind Barry....he can't read[X(]) If you want, I will go to the store and ask them how much for the rest of the roll or at least find out how much is left...... Paul
