My favorite time of the year, as far as RC flying goes. I am putting finishing touches on my Bearcat and Ziroli Warhawk.
for any of you even close to the West Coast and any other with the means and like for giant scale, this is it.
I have some pictures from last year here;

I will surely be taking lots and lots of pictures Kirk. I think I will be back up your way late July or early August as well.

Todd, spectate or participate, you want to go, trust me. And we would looking forward to having you stop by our "camp" as well.

Ray

Hey Ray,
Edwin, Tim & I will hopefully make it up there in a full size C182.
No room for any planes so we'll have to spectate
Anybody else from the Basin going?

Here is Castle Air Museum's website

http://www.elite.net/castle-air

You will find a location link to a map. Hope this helps...

You can count me in for the West Coast Festival...

Bringing the trusty FW190D9... the only flyer I have at the moment. But I will bring the P38 (don't count on it flying its not ready) I do hope to get paint on it by this weekend.

Driving up with Scott early Friday morning.... 3 days of straight flying is fun... rarely ever happens...

By the way... last year they let the smaller birds fly in the late afternoon when they opened the field for public flying. Might as well bring something to fly....

See you guys there!!!!

Vic

oh, yeah.... basin flyer....

A few of the warbird pilots from the SCCMAS in Morgan Hill, CA will be there with their aircraft. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any of my giant scale projects on the bench finished in time, so I'll be solely behind a vendor booth.

The event promoter told me that indications show 300+ pilots will be there. Certainly a big event.

Michael, half the event is not the flying, but the hanging out, rv hopping and even watching the night flying. I know, I know, but until I actually watched it last year, I used to think some of the same things. Why?? Very cool, very cool.

Vic, Your Butcher Bird is my favorite target, looking forward to putting more holes in it.

T.D. Dave, flying is the best, but just making it up for the event is nice too. (this coming from a guy that totally hates to spectate mind you) Stop by the "camp", the barbe cue should be going Friday and Saturday night.

Rudy, outstanding, looking forward to seeing you there flying this year.

GB, Camarillo is my favorite place to fly a warbird. The terrain just gives you goosebumps. Jutting out hills on the left, a barn out deep to the right, more hills behind and to the right, and some valleys to actually loose sight of your plane in (I have done it and survived, but dont want to ever do it again) and lastly, the runway is narrow (when flying giant warbirds) and short. Keeps you on your toes.

Counting down the days now Gents!

Ray

Ray,

Watched you fly your P-40 on Saturday afternoon. Looking good... did you have an engine problem that caused you to shorten your flight?

Hey Alan,
this was not my year to fly like crazy, however, I had a great time meeting and greeting.

The Warhawk had a host of problems, one after another. Saturday night I took it as an omen, and tore it down and put it away.
