Usually about every week, i charge my 700 ma battery on my plane and go fly. About once a month I try to "cycle" the receiver battery by leaving the switch on for a couple hours. When fully charged, my volt meter reads about 5.4...after several hours it'll read 4.8 to 4.7. At that point, I turn off the swith and charge it the night before the next flight.

I do this because I don't have a cycler.

Just wondering of this will serve the purpose of cycling...
Should I bring the volt meter down much lower?

What you are doing is fine, as long as you religiously keep an eye on the voltage. You might want to give Red's web site a visit for a simple cycler.

Just as Vince said.
If you felt inclined to give the pack a 'deep' cycle let the voltage drop to around 4.0 volts before recharging. Deep cycling really doesn't need to be done more than 3 or 4 times a year for the use the pack is getting. Be careful though, the voltage will drop at an increasing rate once it breaks the 4.8 barrier. Be sure to let it charge 14-16 hours with the wall charger after this kind of discharge.

Yep, you're doin' fine.

Happy flying!!
