i've seen em.. but im not paying $2800+ for one... going by the other JJ turbine prices, i would be surprised in an auto-start J-junior was much more than $1500.

I think I would buy a JJ 3000 before I bought one of these. The smaller the engine the more precise it has to be and I'm not sure JJ is up to precise yet.

The damned thing was so small and fast I couldn't keep it in frame!

I'll get some more footage this weekend (hopefully better).

Jose,

How do you know that? I didn't see a price anywhere.

Please share the price with the rest of us if you have it.

Bob

Introducting price for US$1499.00
with auto ECU and all running accessories complete
JoeJr specification:
Weight: 220 gm
Diameter: 55 mm
Length: 112 mm
Full Thrust: 4 Lbs
Idle RPM : 90,000 RPM
Maxium RPM: 240,000 RPM
Fuel Consumption: 60 ml/min

I see one solenoid and no starter, i guess its air start ?

Gabe from JJUS told me he is supposed to demo one at FJ, keep an eye for this one guys !

PS - this is screaming for a smaller size ECU.

well not in defence for JJ but a miniature turbine is actualy 3 times the work then a "normal" 120mm one.
that is why they are almost the same price as "full size".

still $1500 for that small a turbine is not a bad deal.. i'd still get one at that price considering its 1/2 the price of the lambert..

As with most JJ products, I think reliability will explain the price difference.....it has so far.

I have seen the workshop of Martin Lambert while they were assembling Kolibris.
I am very impressed about their artwork and their extreme care for detail and precision.
No doubt, he has gone a very long way to achieve this kind of perfection and took a long in-depth learning curve.
He is still continuously improving his motors and updates the supplied ones all the time with better parts, even without asking.
My three Kolibris have each one totally different ECU parameters, and I see this as a proof they are delicate to make like Swiss watches and that Martin Lambert is restless in trying to find the best parameters for each single Kolibri.
The tolerances are incredible too ; at the beginning he was so picky on the tolerances of his ceramic ball bearings that he made his own, until he found someone who could make them according to HIS specs.
They are welding stainless steel tubes of 0,8 mm as injector needles, this alone is a fantastic achievement.
Now another company seems to bluntly copy and sell the result of his technology ?
No thanks, I bought copy Rolex watches in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) too for 25 US$ and am always happy if they run for one complete year.
But a turbine copy running at 240.000 RPM and with these kind of nano tolerances ? No thanks, not even for a price of 500 $ I want to be JetJoe's experimental pig taking dangerous risks (until the moment I need service or feedback from somebody who truly understands what he actually made). I prefer to pay the full price and get the superb and instant service from Lambert plus a jewel of a reliable little turbine rather than taking the risk I end up completely frustrated with a piece of junk. In such case, even a "low" 500$ would be 500$ too much.
Until now, it is hard to beat the kind of fun I had with the Kolibris and I do not want to change that pleasure and total reliability feeling, flight after flight.

Nicolas.

Please resist the urge to start the brandname dropping. This thread it titled "New JetJoe J-Junior 4lbs turbine". There are other threads to discuss/rant about how good other brands are. Lets not pollute yet another Jet Joe thread.

Cant wait for some additional solid information about the Junior.

I could not disagree more. The history of JetJoe quality is VERY relevant to this thread. Sure, we don't have to talk about other brands. But we SHOULD discuss the issues with quality that MANY Joe buyers in the past have experienced. That should make anyone considering a JJ purchase in the future think twice... no 58 times.
