Well its in Dry Dock
I cannot say enough about the packing experience of Stringfly

HE IS THE MAN!
Also his building skills are par excellent.

I am forever indebted to Park for his gift of many items, including the DVDs that show how to build the unit, the fittings kit, and assembly linkages.

I am on a pension and I can only say that Park has been EXTREMELY GENEROUS.

Really I am speechless...
Thanks from the bottom of the sea and my heart
Dean
PS Enjoying DVD #1

Fantastic. I can't wait to get my Subdriver. Sadly not till June I can make the order. However I did get the light system from that guy on ebay. Great set of lights.

Glad you like the lights.
Good savings on money.
I found 3mm LEDs at the local Radio Shack.

What an amazing work of art the Sub Driver is with this build.
The CG is PERFECT. Incredible fit and balance. I cannot say enough about the experience of Mr Merriman or the product. I will love getting a Gato together. The internet world out there who are listening. The Seaview kit from Caswell is a must buy. The DVD set a must have. Everything works PERFECT. Thanks Mr Merriman and Mike Caswell for completing my dreams of a boy and on my birthday no less...how cool is that?
Cheers
Dean

Thanks SNOWTANK, but STRINGFLY did all the seams and stuff.
I just got a refund for a Seaview missing in action.
I also just got my tax refund.
I now have enough money to finish the Seaview.
That means Lipos and charger, ADF Plane Leveler, Sombra SL-8 rx, and the SNORT-Low Pressure Blower.
probably Lipo Protector too!
Cheers.

PS Was working on the Seawolf last night making sure everything is shipshape.
LOOKING GOOD!

I saw the video and I am impressed how it handles. Does it maneuver well?  Are the vents at the top of the hull cut out? I am not clear how you install the battery through the FS hatch. The battery sits outside the cynlinder and rests in the hatch itself?

Hi snowtank.
Steves build has the battery in the WTC. You just acess the front endcap via the subbay doors.
Nice approach, I am glad you agree.

The Video did prove that  the Seaview can operate very well without the bow planes or even the sail planes. I think I would like to have teh sail planes workable but I am leaning towards leaving the bow planes static. I like the fact that the stern thrust  nacelle vents were not removed. I think for mine I will cut out the vents themselves. The light system on the fins look great and the nose lamp. I want to keep my Seaview build as simple as possible without too much compromise. This looks like a good way to go.

I think I will have the FS suspended from the bay or just sitting in the bay and run it around like that. Watching the Seaview running without the hatch didn't seem to impede it's performance either. Amazing Submarine.

I am still waiting for his reply.
Cheers

Tks Junglelord. I thought about this more. I am going to build my Gato with Dave's Gas system first. Once I have operated the sub several times if I find it's not so great  then I will get Big Dave's RCABS system for Seaview. Both systems are running for the same price so gas vs RCABS. If the RCABS was cheaper I probalby go with that . I still may if the gas doesn't work out. I coudl get Dave's WTC  unassembled kt with the 2battery charger package for roughly the same cost as getting 1 RCABS from Big Dave. I like Big Dave's system with teh single motor and angled thruster. That would explain why his seaview has tighter turns. Hmmm too bad that Dave Merrimans WTC did not have the single engine Thruster that Big Dave's RCABS Wtc has. That combo would be the best of both world's. Static diving with a single motor thruster setup.

I plan on building a Gato. I would like to also make a large Seaview, either Rick Teskey or a Debor.
I would like a Engal Gato, but I will have to go with a Revell Gato. I plan on using a Big Dave WTC for that build.
I will be sending for the Seaview unit from Big Dave in a few weeks.

I will keep you up to date on the build and the results.
