It was such a nice warm sunny day I decided to have lunch on my big boat and do some washing and cleaning. So now it's ready for buffing and waxing.... Some fellow boaters showed up later in the day and we consumed a few brewskies while watching the ice melting on the lake... 2 more weeks and it boating full time again.... I just can't wait.....

It would be better if I lived near the year round liquid water.. this frozen stuff gets old after awhile but it does make you appreciate the time you get on the water....

We are having a few days of rain so I hope to get the clearcoat done on the top of the boat, and the radio gear mounted in the next couple of days.... My son is home from the Marine Corps and it is good having him home, it's been 7 years since we have spent time with him and it's good to catch up.... Hope to have this ready to run in a week or two......

Sorry I missed your post Virginian, The Maxcat is kind of on hold right now have recieved the decals and all of the other little things I needed so I should be able to wrap it up in a day or so, I just need to get the big boat done first. I have been spending alot of time with my son and my second fiberglass project, I'm adding a walk thru doorway on my 32' Cruiser... I was very scared to cut the transom out but once I did it went together pretty fast... I have some filling and sanding to do yet. Then I can gelcoat the area hopfully this week...... Here is a couple of pictures... If anyone had any suggestions or tips let me know

Marcel, Yes my son is right there helping me as I do this glass work. He keeps the beer cold and runs for lunch at noon time, he's getting some fishing in too...LOL You should hear the comments from the dockmates at the marina, they are all very suprised and interested in the progress. I have 3 more to do if I want the work.... I have it ready for gelcoat as of tonite, Having to go to work is slowing down the progress but I hope to have it done for the weekend.....

The weather has been pretty crappy the last month so this project went slower than I would have liked but it's almost complete. I finished up the transom doorway tonite on my 32' cruiser. Here are a couple of pictures of the new doorway, I still have to do some welding on the rub rails where I cut the doorway in, but that's easy to weld the cap plates on the aluminum rub rail ....
Now I can get back to work on my Maxcat next week....

Thanks Marcel for moving them over here for me. I don't know why I can't post a picture here, I have even tried one at a time. Could it be the new editor setup???? I have some from today at the lake also to post...... I did some breaking in on the new motor and a few passes in some 6" rollers today this boat runs like a bear. I have to find a good prop and setup for it but right now it's at 45.9, not bad for the first day out and rough water......
I think my pictures just uploaded this time.........

Thanks Scott, It is a great looking hull that is for sure...... There is nothing like building your own hull from a pile of wood and it runs great right out of the box... I have to give all of the credit to Marcel (Maxcorvette) for the hull design and sharing it with everyone...  I put a small prop on it to keep the speed down while I was tuning the motor and drive. I wish the water was flat so I could have dialed it in more for speed, but I got 4 tanks of fuel thru it and still hit 45.9 GPS with it..  It will get alot of time running this weekend at the island I hope.....

Keeps on looking great, even better in the water
50-52mph should be reachable with a stock zenoah. How heavy is your hull RTR?
If it doesn't reach those speeds, open up the air a bit more, or make a test run without the canopy.
My V1 cat likes to get airborn without a canopy when it goes over 52mph, so it needs the canopy for extra downforce.

My Cat is in primer now, will make pics soon...

Marcel

congrats on the build...  Thats one of the best max cats I have seen...  the paint, and black windshield sets it off.
Is just black paint on the shield?  love what you done with the curves, woody can so end up looking flat.

Hey, slider
Congrats to your awsome looking cat. I really like that Bud Light paint scheme. Mine is going to be fire engine red. I haven't decided on the decals, yet. Check out my thread. I am almost done. with her. Only the top coat and the clear coat, that's it. On Sunday we have a race and I am in for sure.

I have been running the boat alot this weekend and I have one problem to fix. The magnets I used to hold the canopy on to the boat are too weak, I need either stronger magnets, or another system to hold the hatch on the boat that won't take away from the scale look..... The boat is running pretty fast and can run an oval at full throttle with no problems even with choppy water.... It handles very smooth and predictable,  I'm really liking this design. Marcel I think you have a winner with the V2 design.....
