Status: offline 		Its another day where I could be flying but I didnt put my RX battery on charge last night. I was wondering if I could just leave my batteries on charge and when they go to trickle charge just leave them on there? or will that sooner or later damage the batteries?

Status: offline 		Take some time to visit the Battery Clinic, Free to all RCU subscribers. Look in the index for the article "Keep your batteries in the ready state without damaging overcharge." It will take care of the "not being charged problem".

Status: offline 		But I've done exactly that for years. I recharge after coming home from the field, and then leave my nicads on C10 24/7/365.
Works for me and I'm always ready to go Of course a capacity check is done every once in awhile to monitor the status of the packs!

Status: offline 		No, you won't get smacked. A lot of people do this. Just don't let them set off charger for a week or two or you will find out that such a practice leads to accelerated separator deterioration and soft shorts after a while.

Are you saying if you leave them on trickle ALL the time that it's ok but if you just keep them off for a week or two form the constant C10 (outside of flying use) that it will lead to seperator deterioration and soft shorts? So if I am always C10 then go fly and then back home to C10 for years it's ok?

Status: offline 		I am saying that you will get longer service out of your batteries if you don't leave them on charge continiously.

See the article: Keep your batteries in
the ready state without
damaging overcharge.

at the battery clinic. This should give you some insight into the problem.
