OversizeRC / Auctioncity
Um...
I hope this doesn't get deleted by the moderators, but I placed an order with OversizeRC last night, only to realise afterwards that the prices were in US dollars.[]
Then I looked at the Auctioncity website and found the exact same item there slightly cheaper and with cheaper shipping as it was coming from Australia.
Now....
The postal address on both the websites are the same and after a quick search on the net I've found a lot of bad feedback about this/these sites.
People ending up with the wrong gear or not getting anything at all.
When they have tried to contact the store there has been no reply.
(I sent them an email last night to see if I could cancel the order and get a refund)
All in all I've ended up paying $280 for something I could have got for $220 but to me it seems like it's all being sold through the same shop.
I'm confused.
Anyone have any experience with these websites?
Should I be worried?

RE: OversizeRC / Auctioncity
Yeah I wish I'd done some more research before I went ahead and ordered the stuff....
Will try to call him now.
I even read on some other website about one guy who found out which business was next door to his shop and rang them and got the guy to go next door with the phone so he could speak to him....
...so I'm not getting my hopes up...[]
Ha!
On the OversizeRC site it says:
Attn All Customers,
It has come to our attention that the website business X-Rover is using our Business name Oversize Rc, and some of our product photos(king motor baja etc) in there categories and some descriptions as well as paid google adds, We WARN customers we have no association with that website, We will also match or better any price on any Fs Racing or King Motor product they have listed. Thankyou from OversizeRc.com.
I read somewhere that OversizeRC was accused of using photos from some other website.
How are you (the consumer) supposed to know who to believe...
Part from checking what people have to say about these sites.
Which is what I should have done.
*sigh*

he has just opened up a shop here in melbourne..
If I can't get hold of anyone on the phone - which doesn't seem likely - maybe one of you Melbourne boys could go down there for me and get my money back for me....?

Guess I'm not the first sucker then.
I wasn't serious when I said that but if you're offering....
Showroom 7 171-173 Cheltenham RD Dandenong
Anyway, I've been trying to ring all day but to no avail
I also sent a very polite email explaining how I stuffed up and didn't read the website properly and only realised afterwards that the same business were sellling the same items for a cheaper price on a second website.
From what I've been reading on other messageboards I shouldn't expect a reply.
In all seriousness though Maori, if you're going down that way....say........this weekend, hypothetically, I guess one way to get around it would be if you pick up the wheels, cancel my order, and post me the wheels.
Of course I would reimburse you for it.
I'll PM you my phone number if you're considering it.
Would really help a brother out y'know.
I'd do the same for you....
Ok enough with the guilt trip...
We'll see if I have any luck getting through to them tomorrow.
But I doubt it.[]

RE: OversizeRC / Auctioncity
wow, man
I suppose "buyer beware" still rings true, yeh?
Maybe a phone call first to sus out the supplier could be in order?
If I lost my hard earned to a disreputable supplier...well, lucky enough for me & my job, I WOULD catch up with them in person at the end.
I'd hate to think how it would end, as my blood pressure does fuuny things to my temper, and I have a fuse 1" short, and a mean streak 4' wide.
It always sucks to hear someone getting dudded in this game.

RE: OversizeRC / Auctioncity
Well.....
I just got back from the pub and found this email:
Hi Guys,
Just returned to the office this evening to check emails, I was away yesterday arranging a display for our upcoming display at Aussie toy and hobby fair in melb,
Ive left a message on your mobile telphone,
we will be happy to refund the difference,
please order on auctioncity if the price is cheaper,
some prices total up dearer from oversize if your an aussie buyer, and we apologise it is due to the thousands of products, shipping calculations we have to set up for hundreds of countries,
Many Thanks for your purchase, it will be dispatched Friday 6th March
So maybe all is well after all.

Its normal to get very slow responses and less than stellar service from this guy. I don't actually know of anyone getting totally screwed over, so basically, if you accept the delays, he's not the worst seller in the world. I wouldn't worry, just be patient.

RE: OversizeRC / Auctioncity
well? did you recieve your items?
I just spent 912 dollars on this site and I haven`t heard anything from him yet (2weeks later)
called him and sent 3 emails, but no answer.
I have complained to paypal witch will investigate the order for me.
I hope that will speed up things, or in the worst case, refund..

No.
It's been 4 weeks now and still nothing.
He did reply to my emails straight away though, but never answers the phone.
He did ring me once and left a message as well.
It's good in a way though as it has given me time to gather some more bits and come up with more ideas.
Still - it would be nice to have the wheels so I could start the build.

unless he shipped it with donkey it should have arrived?
sounds like "it has been shipped" (NOOOT)

RE: OversizeRC / Auctioncity
your item could be at your local custom office.
it happen all the time.
when item travel to international site.
check with your local post office to see if they see anything.

Yeah but I'm in Australia, and the shop is also in Australia.
Either way I should have recieved something from the Postal service or customs in the letterbox.
