I just got my hands one one of these 114" d-18's that is all built and ready for engines and electronics.
Naked it only weighs about twenty pounds. I weighed just the fuselage with cockpit kit and it is 7.75 lbs.
I am thinking of a couple rcs 50cc engines for it. I need all the power I can get because I fly at 7000'.
I did not get any information with the plane so if some body could help me out with the recomended
CG and thrust angels that are required for it to fly well.
Thanks Jim

Sir

It sounds like you may have a Nick Ziroli Design.

A picture or two would help.

Ok Jim

I am convinced you have the Ziroli design

span = 114"

length=80"

wgt. = 38-50 LBS.

area = 1950 sq. in.

engines G-38's with 20" props

balance it with the landing gear retracted, 10.5"-11" behind leading edge at the fuselage

If you need more info I suggest you contact Ziroli. that bird looks to pretty to take chances with

Good luck ..................................DONNYMAN

Here's pics/videos of mine.
Got 16 flights in last season.
G-38's for power.
Can be tricky on take offs being a twin tail dragger.
Landings are easy.

Hey Jim,
I just bought one with that design and couldn't wait to repaint it! Just started to repaint her, you should consider a nice civilian design.
