Anybody know where I can get some spare metal track links and pins for the HL Tiger 1? Trying to solve the track throwing problem that haunts my tiger. Found a couple of bad links and pins that may be part of the problem. (Already have adj idlers) Search didn't come up with anything Blitz doesn't have any and no reply from RC Command??

Thanks

I need two links and two pins. These are the tracks that came with the tank so I'm guessing they are HL

Thanks

HI

I do have some spare links lying around but the HL Tigers I have all came with plastic tracks so I do not know if these will fit. My ones were aftermarket ones I got from Mato I think. Do you have any pics?

cheers
Steve

Blitz:

So for future reference are the factory HL metal tracks as good as other aftermarket tracks or should we just get the plastic and upgrade later? I have had my share of track problems.

They are normally pretty good I would guess that at least 70 percent of the HL Tiger 1 tankers are running these! But sometimes they can get molded bad, just like the exspensive after market ones! I would be interested in taking a pole of how many tankers have a problem with one side of their Tiger 1 only??? I have one that one side always seems to be a pain, and i know other have too! But then I have one that is all plastic that has been running just fine, and I let first timer kids drive it!!

Well you know my problem (sent you a PM a couple of days ago ) Left side will not stay in position. I hope a couple of new links & pins will fix it.

You mean e-mail right because I did not receive a PM? I know a lot of guys like to use the PM but I just hope they know that these messages are not private they are very transparent, and I am sure are being looked at! I don't have anything to hide but I prefer not to use them, but of course will respnd to you! All that said Dave, I did not receieve a PM from you!

Phil

Well looking at my track that always jumping the idler first I found one link where the pin hole didn't go all the way thru so the pin could not be inserted all the way. Who ever assembled them just cut the pin off so looked like it was all the way in.

Then I found two more pins that were bowed up in the center (between the alignment teeth) that would make the track bind when it ran across the idler wheel. It looks like there pins were actually too long. Don't know if these are assembled at the factory by hand or by some sort of fixture tool with a stop at one end but with the extra length they bowed up in the center

I will try and find some wire to make new pins. It measures .038 in dia.

Expensive track problem here also. Right side of TIGER 304. I finally got it to work, but it still wants to ride up over the idler. And it has a nasty habit of knocking off the last outer roadwheel.

I ended up having to move the track tensioner. Now it stays on but jumps a bit. I've replaced links as well as pins. I think the teeth are to close and may need to be bent out some.
