Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of research and I can't find a wal mart sub at my walmart or online. Also I was looking at the Nikko sea wolf and I don't know if they discontinued it or not, I can't find one either. So I think i'm resorting to building one, I want to do a conversion. Does size really matter? Can i make a small WTC for like a small sub like teh germain VII the scale is like 1:144 so it's pretty small I think. Also, i'm looking for static diving not dynamic. Thanks guys!

Oh... note to hobbytron.com i bought a mini sub from them that was worth 16.99 and they sent me two finding nemos at $7.50 and called it an upgrade... and they don't even work >.<" *sigh* i was really looking forward to it since i can't find a nice scale model one.

To my knowledge, walmart doesn't carry those subs anymore. You can find them on ebay from time time, so look there.

I was considering buying one of those subs, but not from hobbytron. Where do they get the right to substitute?

Can't help on the water tight compartment, but i would like to know that one too.

I got beginner sub from Radio Shack "The Mako Mini Sub" about 2 yrs ago. Here is a video of it

And here is the manual..

http://www.radioshack.com/graphics/uc/rsk/Support/ProductManuals/6004354_PM_EN.pdf

Not sure if it's available anymore. It is a fun toy but it does have a short range (3'-5').

Hope that helps

I had one of those too, but it was red and silver. Fun little sub....but then one day it stopped working and I couldn't understand why. So I opened it up and discovered it had leaked into the circuit board area. Guess I took it too deep one time. Anyhow, I waited too long to ope it up and save the board and now it's in pieces in a ziplock bag. I would suggest that if you have one you take it apart and silicone it up like the walmart subs that guys on the forum were doing.

Have you tried looking on ebay for the nikko sub, you might find some for sale there I think.
