I am looking to upgrade my radio. I am looking for a mid range FM with at least 3 model memory. The three I am looking at are the Futaba 3PDF, Airtronics MX-3 and JR XR3i. All appear to be very similar in features and price. I know this is a very subjective questions but I would like to get your imput on the advantages and disadvantages of each. I have read reviews and looked at the manuals on each and that gets really confusing ... All of these are more radio than I need right now but I am hoping my skills will grow into the one I choose. Thanks for your help.

Anyone out there ??? I really expected to get a good response to this posting. I was hoping for some expert advice ... I guess I'll try elsewhere.

ll three you said are good. Pick one that you might like. The sanwa?airtronics and JR are great choices. Either of the two are good.

I just got a JR XS3 (same as XR3i but with synthesized channels).

so far I'm very happy with it. Lots of adjustments and not too expensive. I'm not sure what the XR3i costs, but the XS3 cost me 199 - and I never will have to worry about frequency conflicts again .

The JR also came with some nice servos - there is a plastic gear servo for throttle (if you need it) and a metal gear servo for steering with lots of torque.

Good luck - let us know what you decide.

You might want to check out the new Hitec Aggressor CRX. It has way more features than any of the radios listed and will sell for about $200 when it hits the shelves next week.

For more info go here:http://www.hitecrcd.com/Radios/CRX.htm

These days you can get Airtronic and Jr systems very cheap. Their low/Mid range systems prices are great.
