Nothing 3D's like a CAP! (just my opinion )

There are those who like almost every aerobatic plane for different reasons. The new "hot" plane is the Edge. I personally don't like the way it presents in the snap area. Look at the TOC tapes and you decide. The last couple have examples of Edges // Caps // Extras (300's and 260's) // Katana // Ultimate Bipes // and a few years ago a very large Sukhoi // Wiggens // and so on.

It's like discussing Chocolate or Strawberry icecream. More of a personal choice with planes and the results tend to have more to do with practice than the equipment.

There are many CAPs in the 80" range. The Midwest is a good one as is the Lanier (arf or kit) with Carden's quality leading the pack. Some of the offerings leave a lot to be desired in the ARC field. I have seen some that were in the "wouldn't take it home on a bet" class. Look at what you are buying in this arena or have a "return agreement" with no questions asked.

A little larger plane is the H-9 CAP which is an excellent choice in either 3D or precision aerobatics if set up properly.

Hope this helps.
Bill

I built this plane with the airfoiled tail group. I used a moki 2.1 for power. I used an apc 20-10 initially but switched to an apc 19-8w
I double beveled all the control surfaces. Hitec 5945mg servo for the nelson pull pull on rudde. Hitec 5625mg servos for the elevator and ailerons. This plane is by far the best plane I've had to date. I recently purchased a H9 33% cap but we aren't fully aquainted yet. The midwest weighs 14lbs.even. It does an awesome blender, waterfalls, torque rolls, and the wings barely rock during harriers with 50 degrees of up on the elevator. I would reccomend this plane to anyone wanting to learn 3d. The only draw back is if you get it too slow in a banked turn. It taught me how to get it out of a knife edge snap in a hurry!
