i need to replace the crank on my OS .46fx-h engine. i got it used and the crankshaft was shortened. So now i need to replace the crankshaft. Ive got the engine torn down but i dont know the proper way to get the crankshaft out of the crankcase.
Any help would appreciated.

I heard this from some club members talking, but have no direct experience with it.

They said you heat the outside of the case around the crank bushing and subsequently, the heat will expand the case allowing the crank and bushing to slide out.

You need to get the piston and sleeve out first. Heat helps here. If the sleeve is stubborn, place an old glow plug washer on the piston with part of it sticking into the exhaust port (but not hanging all the way out). You will have to have the cylinder head off, of course

Then, turn the crank and the sleeve will slide up and out. The copper glow plug washer is a lot softer than the material the sleeve is made from.

After the sleeve is out you can pull the connecting rod off the crank pin and push the crank out the back of the motor. You might have to tap it with a brass or plastic hammer. If you're going to trash the crank, a ball peen hammer will work even better. Just make sure you take the backplate off the engine
