Ziroli uses pretty standard stuff. 3/32" sheeting, 1/8" lite ply, 1/8" aircraft ply. It's been a couple of years since I built mine. Ziroli ships fast so you should get your plans shortly.

I built mine with a three piece wing to allow for easy transportation (rides on it's wheels in the trailer) and field assembly. If you want to do this, e-mail me and I'll send you the info and photos.

I make a kit for the Ziroli F4U. It is probably just as cheap to buy a kit, but scratch building is a worth while labor of love.

Nick typically sheets his wings and tail with 3/32" sheeting. The fuselage is 1/8 sheeting. If memory serves, the F4U MIGHT have 1/16 sheeting for the tail surfaces. You can pick the 1/16 later as I am sure you will only need about a half a dozen sheets.

If you are a careful cutter, you MIGHT be able to get the 1/8 aircraft parts that you need from two 16"x48" sheets of aircraft plywood. The tough thing about the F4U is all of the aircraft plywood in the wings (the gull wings require the strength).

The outer ribs and tail ribs are 3/32" balsa.

Most of the formers are 1/8" lite ply.

Good luck

Ken
just read that you built a 3-piece corsair wing. I'm planning to do this also with the Ziroly Corsair. My idea was to seperate the wings between the aileron and outer Flap.
However, if you could send me your photos, I'd be very happy

thanks
