It is a spray on or brush on film.Mostley used on Rc car and truck bodies. You spray it on, then cut out a pattern with a razer knife. Peel out the pattern and paint. Butch.

I brush it on. It peels off easy. Its a good way to get a clear masking.

Is the liquid mask thick? If not, wouldn't it be really easy to accidentally scratch the body with the cutting tool?

It is used predominantly in water color but the RC car hobby has picked it up for painting lexan bodies.
You can brush it on in layers or thin it and spray through your airbrush, let each coat dry and then cut sections off when done.

there are multiple brands at any true art supply store or you can get one made for RC which i think might be slightly different consistency .

I use tape whenever I can as liquid mask is a bit fragile.

But it can be usefull if you cant get normall masking to sit flat, like at the edge of an air duct on a shell or wing pillar.

id usually try to work my design around obsticals, but sometimes you have to go over them, then the liquid mask helps allot.
