I use a mix of dish soap and water with the hardware store type alcohol added. After a good clean up, I wipe it down with Lemon Pledge. It brings the sheen back on both doped fabric and the iron on coverings.

I found that denatured alcohol cut the engine residue best of all. It's sort of pricey so I mix it with cheaper Isopropyl alcohol (50-50). If cleaning a firewall for repairs, I use the denatured alcohol straight. It also loosens up old gummy engines well.

After "degreasing" the plane, then use windex to remove the last of the residue.

I use Greased Lightning Orange Blast. It cleans it really well, leaves no oily (or other) residue. Leaves the plane nice and shiny.

I have used baby wipes befor. heard about it on the forum while back. They actualy go along way and work rvery well. I would use about half dozen to clean my plane and the end of the flying day. A box would last a while.

OMG! This topic comes up every 3 weeks!

Airplane Cleaner

Mix into a gallon jug -

* 10 cups water
* 2 cup denatured alcohol
* 1 cup ammonia
* 1/4 cup of favorite dish soap.

Pour into your spray bottle and use on your airplane as you normally would.

I like it so much I use it on everything, and made 4 gallons of it and placed it in storage. Leaves no oil residue and doesn't leave streaks. Works great for the inside of auto glass.

Turtleway bug and tar remover. It has kept my monokote covered planes looking brand new for multiple years. I was amazed at how well it works.

 Hi rcflyby!

I suggest that you should also try Jet Stream's Supreme Glaze. With the same cleaning features, it protects the plane surfaces at the same time. It even removes carbon exhaust stains.
Still, it's up to you if you want to try something BETTER,Man.
