Fossil - I have already posted some photographs, page 23 post 569. I have also posted some retract photographs on post 572 I believe. My exhaust was the prototype Kelvin made for this installation and I thought he was offering it for sale now - I would check with Kelvin again.

I had seen those pics I was actually hoping you had some pics of the whole exhaust. I have spring-air retracts in mine and it flies great I just think the exhaust would make it better. Thanks

I beg to differ. Kelvin HAS full operational stacks for this aircraft. He has also the type you are describing. The stacks can now be seen on his website. I have them on my stang; they are scale and very realistic. You can go to my gallery and look for yourself.

Looks as though you have the Saito 200TI, not the Saito 180 which both fossil and I are discussing.

While mine has yet to fly I have completed a number of taxi test runs all of which were on a grass field - I am happy to say the airplane taxis very well and during one run it actually became airborn for a short time before I aborted - wind and weather conditions were not conducive for a first flight, at least not for me.

To directly answer your question; I have found the aircraft to be the most agreeable handling warbird I have ever flown, when it comes to ground handling, and I have flown a lot. The beauty of this airplane is it's design. It is very scale and it flys like an advanced sport plane. The designer really nailed this one.

    Hey magnum500 and friends

Been building my Ziroli P-51 so spending more time on forums on that lately but checking in here again. I really love the way this H9 P-51 bird handles on the ground and in the air. Tracks extremely smoothly on both and really has a nice charm to it. I'm now on flight 33 and she is holding up well. Did replace retracts after flight 2 with Robarts!!!! Plastic snapped on a good landing even...I presume the new version has better retracts from the sounds of it. Season is almost over, put 4 flights on yesterday and today is the first snow fall....ever seen a Mustang with skis????

The dowels at the leading edge are getting those gouges in them after flight 21 like many people mentioned earlier in this forum, so I did the 11/32 OD metal tubing over 5/16 dowel thing and it was a perfect snug fit...opened up the holes in the fuse by taking a scrap 11/32 and sharping the edges with a file, and screwed it in there with my hands....I almost used a drill bit but I've gone down that road before try to widen a hole and it ended up being egg shaped etc

    happy flying

    Matt

Matt - I've been flying one of these too since they came out - it's keeping me from working on the Ziroli also. I had to do the brass thing with the dowels. No problems since.

    Hey Guys,

It happens that I have collected both the H9 60size and the 150 size. Believe it or not the 60size flies great with on 100four stroke Saito and the 150 size is also flying great with the 150BK Saito four stroke.
The retracts are made for very gentle touchdowns so if you take off of grass or non paved runways need to be replaced.
Here are some pics of them:

I only have about 10 flights on mine and don't have the wing dowel gouges yet, but just in case what are you guys doing just sliding brass over the orginal dowels & opening up the holes in the fuse to fit the increase in size? or are you replacing the orginal dowels with smaller ones with brass slid over to be the same size as the orginals?

    hey fossil

yeah, 11/32 OD metal tubing slips over the 5/16 dowel already there in place perfectly...might need to wedge/shave it over the dowel resin a hair. (except
