The shaft that is knurled on the end is screwed onto the crankshaft and the bearing is put on from behind or before you assemble it. I always take and put a good piece of wood into the exhaust side of the motor and it holds the piston while you break it loose. Hope you have good luck with taking it apart. I have had the knurled end getting damaged from trying to break it loose. If you do mess it up let me know. I have some extra ones if you need it. Thanks Donzie

Hey Snake, All you have to do is to take a phillips screw driver or a punch of the right diameter and put it into one of the holes on the back side of the flywheel and brace it up against a main part of the engine case so that the flywheel can't turn. then take a vise grip or a small pipe wrench on the knurled part of the stub shaft and turn it loose. the shaft and the bearing should come off together. hope this helps. .... Steve

Hi guys..

Been away from things for awhile, and what ever Ive worked on hasnt really been worth posting..just stuff here and there..

Anyways after a few emails with Jason (51DGuy on here..) hes set me up with a way to go about about transforming the drive shaft into a solid piece..

Ive sent my drive off to him with an aluminuim shaft from McMaster Carr and hes going to have the machinist friend of his do his stuff..here are a few shots..

Jasons a great guy by the way, and has offered alot of great advice about he drive and the build itself..

Im really intersted between the balancing ring, the third bracket and now the solid shaft how smooth this is going to run..(the 35 has been replaced with the US 41 I was able to get from Ebay)
