**MAJOR UPDATE**                                  carson c5   25/05/09

well i know its my birthday tomorrow and i have the cad zenoah engine on the way for my fg, but i couldnt help buying this today...and you all know my love for onroads )
i have been looking at it on another forum for a while and i just had to ring the guy today and went to him and bought it. lol

it is a 06(estimated by himself) fully compition fg sportline with all alloy, full compitition chassis, alloy hubs, alloy front a-arms,alloy rear a-arms,4 very good looking alloy shocks with blue/yellow uprated springs.alloy diff/mounts,looks very tough.front disc brakes,front/rear antio roll bars,i think it looks awesome............(came with no radio tray no engine.)

man this model has lots of adjuting points on those alloy arms.........unreal!!

very very good condition.............what can i say IM OBCESSES LOL

i bought it from a guy thats cleaning up his collection a little and got a very hansome deal )

so as of now my engine from carson and pipe are going straight on this....

i loved the carson and am planning on putting my solo engine back in but for this new model the only trace of carson in it will be radio tray which i have already fitted lol

MM GOING TO BE A LONG NIGHT UPGRADING AND SWAPPING hahah (i will post up when finished)
here are some pics.

cheers dc2

well well well i cant believe i got that done and dusted, ready to race at a moments notice lo.i started it at 7 and finished at eleven wow....im wrecked llol

yes i know im mad....
god this chassis really is amazing, the engine has litterly a place to sit in it without it being able to budge.......its the real deal alright.
here are the pics, wow the chassis is thick.........no flex here anyway...

as for the brakes they are a lot better than my own ones on the carson wow they lock up those front discs......

im happy with my evenings work.

and the finish product......

now to run it )))))))

cheers sam

i actually worked yesterday at it from 4 to eleven lol i couldnt stop until i had it finished lol

i ran it this evening for a while had great fun,my girlfriend booked out the local racing gokart track for two hours for me,man some fun,was very greesey though there, the track is very smooth and i would need a scaffold to see all around it lol, either way was great fun.

car is awesome, chassis is much thicker so all the flex is relied on the shocks,i can see allready that this car is a very good handler with antiroll bars at both ends and alloy shocks with stiff springs,im very happy with it,yes it is a little heavier but not too much.....

cheers.

cool man i hope there will be gains ....

the weather is giving down pretty good here now today so i might get the car out this evening for a vid....

i need to tune it a little i think the added weight requires a leaner mix top end.........

lets see how it goes..

dc

dc2 man, did you get a body shell with the fg ? or just the rolling chassis ? that beemer body you have looks like its been through some tough times lol and severe abuse!! yeah i run plenty of oil in my cars, 15:1 actually and they run better, especially when they get really hot, i have never had problems since i changed to this mix, as i toasted a few topends when i started in large scale running 25:1mix.

man i would have to agree with you there.the richer the better.so what do you reckon that mix you use equates to in milliliters?

i use 150mill to 5liters,what would that be 25 to 1?

i have a brand new body shell just painted (same as one i have) and i am awaiting the decals with my next order,i also am getting the carbon fiber radio tray for it,expensive but worth it though i think, over 60euro for the tray.....

i will still use the old shell for driving because fast driving on wet/dirty surfaces scuffs them up pretty quickly, but i will put new body on it for an easy run when i run it next time just to see what its like.....its strictly just for display this new body lol

man the chassis in this comp version is fairly class, there is a cut out like a step on chassis for engine to sit in to,this once and for all eliminates the possibility of any engine movement.

very thick also, zero flex........unlike the old carson one which would flex under braking alone....lol

may get a vid up this evening now, weather is looking promising........)

hello all, well it was an absolutely gorgeous warm day here today so i decided it was time to run this new fg comp model

lads all i can say is WOW!!! this car is amazing i love the handling, brakes, shocks, all top notch..........this car has some potential...........the level of grip is hard to believe.
handles much much better than a stock model,of course it has much more adjustments to tamber with.

great chassis..........no roll, good shocks which do  take all the flex and abuse............im very happy with it now.

enjoy vids.... i know i enjoyed making them......lol

Hi!

150ml on 5 litres would be 1:33 that is a little leaner then a mixture at 1:25.

Nice dc2man (or maybe it is dc3man now when you have FG largescale cars )

Can you actually feel difference in the handling in comparison with your Carson? Does the body fit that car aswell?

Hey dc2, great vids there, looks to handle and brake very well! i bet your pleased with it, the fuel mix i run is about 250mls to 4 litres of fuel.....YES thats very rich, but i like my engines to last!!, what your running is about 30:1 so you could always go a bit richer........those comp chassis sure are great! no flexing.

waqr, man am i running lean so??

maybe should i go 200mill to 5liters?#

yeah the body fits this no problem,i have another video with body on which i will upload this evening.

yes major differnce in handling waqr,if you look at the chassis in the picture, and shocks, anti roll bar in front........

its great compared to carson.

hey ,mc cheers, so how do you find tuning your engine at that rich mix?

what needle settings do you end up using?
