**SOME MORE TESTING VIDEOS**                                      21-05-09

so hello all i managed to get out with this baby again today for a few hours this evening after work, evening was nice between the showers lol
.........damm i love this onroad, some sweet ass out action.....

i made some adjustments lastnight to brakes/shocks/tyres and was eager to see the performance.......

i didnt use any cones today to mark a track as i was all out for high speed runs for this testing, and i must say very happy with the results as you will see in the videos )

first video is with shell removed and i left out the music this time (FOR WAQR) cheers lol

now im well impressed with the speed/power of this,i also want to point out like i said i used an 18tooth pinion for the layshaft and it was very heavy and wide so i machined it down for a lower rotational mass, and my god does it make a differnce...

regards lads,enjoy

Awesome videos dc2man, thumbs up That engine is really a high reving piece. Is it a 23 or 26cc? Do you know what needle settings you have (High and low) on your carburator. It would be very interesting to know.

I compared you BMW body when it was new to how it looks now and I think that your BMW body looks even nicer when it is a bit worn. Looks great man

Keep your videos coming man

thanks waqr for the compliments, more vids from today coming soon lol
i have a second new body the same for display lol this body is rough from usage lol

cant get enough of this machine......)
i use stock factory needle settings 1 3/4 high and 1/1/2 low speed, the richer the better i think, this talk about leaning engine to get more power is only crap.....i have driven this car to the limit from within an inch of its life and as the engine gets hotter from running power drops slightly but it wont it needles are right rich settings (well factory settings) people tune the needles with an already full engine sometimes and thats fine untill that motor has a half hour of flat out running done then they start to run lean.......so the needles must be factory settings in my opinion for best results!!

i dont lean to get power i richen...believe it or not.

and i run 150mill oil to 5 liters.

i went off today again for some more videos all i can say is WOW.......this thing is mental......great value with the upgrades i m100percent happy with it,i would buy another 5 tomorrow lol

watch the next videos for some great SLIDING AND OPPOSITE LOCK..... some great ass out fun.... )

my car is so strong now that my old dog bone at one side gave up(luckky i hada spare) the drivetrain is so tough that this broke first lol

so some pictures first of the weakest link lol (snapped dog bone) only weekness in my drivetrain to date....apart from plastic clutch pinion which i upgraded from new.

PICTURES.. first before i upload vids.

next reply for the vids,.........keep a close eye for the opposite lock in the next videos.

yeah thanks man, its a G230 zen, not too sure whats been done to it, i guess its been ported as the guy i bought it from raced it in sydney, but yeah, damn its quick! its got a samba 5 pipe so that definately makes it rock! the tyres that i had on in the vid were really worn, so was a bit of a handful, but have now got some new pmt tyres on, running 15s on rear and 30s up front. really looks like your car is flying, and handling well too. do you have more parts on the way ? or is hobbythek out of stock ? lol, you are really chewing through your tyres lol, but good to see your getting lots of use and having heaps of fun with your car.

hey mc spanners

thanks man yeah the car is going really well.
i have a few little problems alright now like ages ago i tipped the kirb slightly and i think my rear shock got a little damaged so i need to place an order for a new shock, the car is driving perfect but im just a bit of a perfectionist anyway lol....

also as you can see from the pictures i run this car extremly hard.....and i snapped a dog bone driveshaft yesterday (lucky i had spares) you can imagine how tough my drivetrain is set up once you see the driveshaft snapped first lol but i had to replace that with a longer fg one,but now the camber/caster is out slightly so i need to order one of those also..

i ran the car again just now for three tanks, perfect even though these adjustments need to be made.
i have decided that i am going to alloy up the rear end and front very soon,im going to make it a comp model.......i am going to use the carson alloy gearplate which is same design as stock so i can keep my layshaft brake which is excellent on this model........

what body have you on your car,its class......man you do mind it,very clean looking.....thats a sweet machine......
.....

Hi dc2 man, cool i can't wait to see the comp version your gonna make, are you doing a full conversion ? do fg comp parts fit ?. the body on my car is the BMW 320 same as yours except i think its a harm body, with a carbon wing. the weather is bad here again, just won't stop raining, so no racing today.

hey man.

well i have started it already,my goal here was to buy, well i always wanted to get a stock average priced largescale car and test it to the limit in stock trim, and i must say man im well impressed with this model,it took very little to make it bulletproff............

now i have come to the stage that im just itching to do more upgrades lol

these upgrades that i will do next wont be even required on the car just my own prefernce to put them on it now.

i have done a lot to this car so far...

nope fg parts are differnt, rear fg a-arms are wider as i have two that i would need to machine to make fit so i would just buy the carson alloy ones,im going to upgrade this complete blue alloy anodised as ,my fg is all alloy already.

i will list here the upgrades already just to give you an idea that it is far from a  stock car now....

this is whats done so far as follows.

1/ 4500 upgraded battery
2/ futaba 3pm transmittor/reciever
3/steel clutch pinion
4/modified layshaft 18tooth pinion
5/alloy spur adaptor
6/ new zenoah 26cc engine
7/ formula 1 air filter
8/delrin white spur gear
9/ carson alloy large engine mount
10/ carson small alloy touring car mount
11/two hitek large metal geared servos
12/alloy fg diff mounts
13/alloy complete diff
14/carbon fiber rear upper brace
15/fg rear shock mount
16/ two fg front hubs to replace the stock crap ones...
17/ fg dtm tyres (medium)

next is complete alloy a-arms front and rear, and side gearplate, carbon radio tray,...........and prob a hell of a lot more lol

dc2

cool

let me know how things goes.

i can offer you a second hand spur gear for that model and a steel clutch pinion 19tooth if you want them, stock clutch is 23tooth but this would work away the finest, would give you awesome acceleration with slightly less top speed...........

i could ship them to you .......

pm me if intrested.
