Fuselage bulkheads for the G&L's glass fuselage.

Hi gang: I'm thrashing to get the airframe of my 310 done for next weeks mall show. Did I read someone has the fuselage bulkheads available in PDF format?

If so, I sure would appreciate receiving them, save me some time.

thanks, Terry.

Awesome! Can't wait to hear how she flys. Do you plan on taking any video? I sure would like to see video of another Nosen 310 in the air. I've watched most of the ones on youtube several times and they keep me motivated, but one more would be great! Good Luck and Nice Work Cliff...

They used to be $450.

I guess this is their way of competing with the Chinese.

"Hey China has retacs for $150 now".

"Oh yeah, well raise our prices up $300"!

Lets see I have three big planes that use retracts planed. Should I pay $4,000 on retracs or just buy a lathe and milling machine?

looks like it's becoming worth it to just roll your own.

That is a lot more than I am willing to spend. I just do not see $750 worth of product there.

Actually I'd just get a set of these then perform my own quality control at home.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19784__Complete_Air_Retract_Set_for_80cc_Giant_Scale_H_King_T_28_Trojan.html

I mean really $150 for those and with all that CNC machinery you not only can't come down on the price, but almost double it. Gessh

I'd be willing to pay $350 for a set of Nosen 310 retracts. $450 was expensive but I'd begrudgingly pay it because of all the hours it would take to lathe and mill a set. For $775? This lathe is only $609 and with free shipping. I'd think the lathe is more complex to build than a set of tubes mounted on some hinge brackets.

Just my opinion, but, It seems the mentality is, no one can do anything better than we can in USA. So, when a foreign market offers something that someone here is making for 20% of what someone here is selling it for, the kneejerk reaction is, I have to go up on my prices to compensate for the lose of profit caused by my customers buying the cheaper product.

The flaw to that Ideolology is, they price themselves right out of the market. What they dont realize or get is these foreign companies will do a run of 100,000 units at a time. The guy here in the US is only making them as needed. And mostly from a work force of a couple or 3 people. You cant compete It sad but basic economics. To say we should all buy American made is a great ad campaign, but, none of us really do. We buy the cheapest we feel we can to get by. Do you buy the best beef at the store when you shop? No, you buy whats on sale or the cheaper cuts to save money. If you dont have a money flow issue, then this post is not for you LOL .

This is just my opinion and doesnt reflect any others.

I like the idea of just spending the money for a lathe and start making my own. Lots of suppliers out there now that sell all sizes of air cylnders. Just google industrial air cylnders. Heck, Ive been making my own large air tanks for years for basically free. Go to any of your local car shops and ask them to keep all the empty bottles of AC refridgerant. You can peel the lables off and they are exactly what every retract manufacture uses. You just have to solder an air fitting in the end. I have small ones, large ones, fat ones, skinny ones. Easy to do.

Ok, off my soapbox.

Well I have bit my lip long enough.. I checked the link above for those HK retracts.. great price but not in stock.. as far as buying cheaper... Zellers said it best .. the lowest price is the law... that is a competitive market place and also what protects us from gouging by the retailers.. and the best kick is that those HK retracts are very likely the same ones that another company in the USA  sells for 800.00 they are just slightly different to avoid legal issues.. too bad the gov.. didn't tell the retailers to " manufacture " american.. never mind buy.. just check the shoes or the pants or shirt you are wearing.. how about that receiver in your plane and the transmitter , servos, switches etc.. hell even the the ARF you waited so long to buy was made there..  just recently I was looking for a lipo battery ... and when I checked the shipping,, it was insane.. I later checked on a battery I had already purchased from HK that was shipped from HK... hmmm curious.. so I checked into it again.. I found the same battery a zippy 2800 from HK was 10 dollars shipping to Canada.. ok not bad.. but the same battery from the USA warehouse.. 30 dollars... for a 17 dollar battery... this ones a no brainer... guess where I bought the battery...

Ok... so I had my turn on the soap box

Yeah, chill man we were just passing the time away lol. When you get with your buddies at the field, do you ONLY talk about the field? LOL Didnt see any rules when I joined that said we ONLY talk about nosen 310's what makes a forum like this great! And besides, we were talking bout the price of retracts for the Nosen 310. Dont see any problems there. Opinions were offered up on how to save money and yes, some political stuff got mixed in. Its an election year and you cant go anywheres without that being interjected into the fray. I promise I wont say anything else about the overpricing of American made products on here again

Hi gang:

I had my 310 assembled for a mall show that our club puts on every spring. At this point the wing has a layer of .6 oz. glass cloth applied and the retracts are in. Going to take a bit of a break, been working steady for a week and a half to get it presentable.

Cheers, Terry.
