Robbe SeaWolf
Well its ready to go and today is the big day.
Here are the insides of the first large sub I have ever made, its 36".

Its a V2 version with front dive planes on a microservo.
Need to get a ADF for the rear planes.
Thats on order. But I am going to giver her a shake down cruise without one tomorrow. Should be 15c and the water should be about 38F. Its cold water but the ice is gone....time to get er done.

Well I got two runs with no water leaks.
Its a dream come true. It handles very well.
I love it. It needs more ballast and I am going to put in my new 6v sealed lead acid battery, that will give me another two pounds dead center. Should be perfect. Cheers

Well I have the modifications done. I got the 6v in and the wiring is tighter, with the rx now under the tray up in front of the servos instead of back by the motor on top of the tray. They say that the sealed lead acid batteries are good for a hour. That is going to be fun.

Back in the water tomorrow...two pounds heavier...pics to follow.
Cheers
Dean

Well I have success....DIVE, DIVE, DIVE. I got a two hour run!

A little calm between swells.

I can run from the end of the point and walk a high shoreline.

This is the St. Lawrence River, Lake St. Lawrence, Ingleside Ontario, cold water, still ice in places.

I ordered four more batteries for the sub.
I also made the modification of scribing and opening the front hull...a mistake from the original plans.
That needed to be done to make a proper replacement for closing the Seawolf. The one fatal flaw, was the thin thread they had setup to close the WTC. So I replaced the thin 2mm thread and tightening rod with a 5mm thread and a O ring with a wing nut. She is much more secure now. I really like this sub. It dives excellent, patrols a mean sea with no bobbing and is my first large sub

Cheers

I cannot get over how good I am at scribbing and cutting a hull apart.
My skills have grown a lot in three months. I remember being TERRIFIED of cutting into a model....now I am a surgeon. No mistakes, no dings, nicks, or F ups. I have the tools, the knowhow and the confidence to go miles and years into this journey. I hope to turn on a whole group of people with this hobby this weekend at the local RC Display. I have been asked to bring my wares and I have been busy making sure that they are complete, good looking and functional to a high degree.

Negitive Box Compression
It happened to me today with my Robbe SeaWolf. I dove too deep.
It went straight to the bottom and got stuck in weeds.

I sat on the river and said a prayer...and low and behold some guy came singing, down the river, on a sea kayack.

He retrived my sub and at five feet it came up on its own, none the worse for wear, but truly a voyage to the bottom of the sea.
