Could please post a list of know issues for each version of the Tracker II software, i.e. , version 1.2 flaperon issue and create and update a thread describing the status of the Tracker II software. Since I live in Minnesota a two week turn around, if its shipped UPS make that four weeks or lost, to update the software takes away a significant part of my flying season. If I know the state of the software updates, I can make an intelligent decision as to when I want to upgrade.

Thanks

First we added flaperon, crow and butterfly.
Secondly, we showed the frequency and shift on the model you had saved.
Third we kept the frequency setting in place for each model. The Tx still scans the channel before turning on, but you do not have to set the channel first. This is what we call the Tom Hunt setting.

There may have been some minor items, but these are the key changes.

All radios are now shipping with these features.

All the best,
Lewis Polk

To Mr. Lewis Polk,

Your response does not really answer my question. When I bought the system with version 1.2 of the software the manual said to use flaperons do this, I did and it did not work. If your engineers would have tested the flaperon function you would have have found the problem, so much for your quality assurance of your software. For the added functions crow, butterfly, frequency and shift save etc, thank you for listening to your customers and implementing those features. My original question has to do with history, I would like to know the history of the software upgrades, known issues and current version. I would suggest the following format which is similar to bios upgrades.

version 1.30 - m/d/y
- fixed c
- no known issues
.
version 1.20 - m/d/y
- fixed b
.
version 1.16 - m/d/y
- fixed a
.
version 1.00 - month/day/year
- first release

Since you do not want to allow software upgrades via the internet, would you consider software upgrades via CDROM which could be ordered from Polk Hobby by registered user.

Thank you for your response.

John Berk

We had tested the Flaperon to our understanding of it. We had our consultant, Charlie Hampton check it and it worked to his understanding of his needs.

Once we got other peoples needs we updated it. What we did and was crow and butterfly primarily for glider pilots.

I cannot give out our several years of work even by CD as that can be broken and read. The chip itself has a lock that doesn't allow extraction of a program, but a CD can be read in many ways.

Send it in and we will make it up to date.

The other answer is that we did not keep track version by version as to what we did. Once we changed it there was no record of the prior versions. We are looking for the best results and frankly there we hundreds of past versions, while we were developing it. We do not have room on our computer to keep all of the versions and why should we.

I do not expect any futher versions at this time as all user issues after several months of use have been addressed.

Yours truly,
Lewis POlk

1 - What is the current version number of the Tracker II software/firmware?

2 - Would you please post the current version number and date of the software/firmware when you upgrade or patch?

Thanks
