Brushless is kick-ass.....Old news..........

Too bad they dont show how expensive those set ups are. Or how you only get about 10-12 minutes run time on a charge, how expensive the matched battery packs are, or how you have to let the motors cool after every other run. I was looking into a brushless Stampede which is much less expensvie than an E-maxx to set up and maintian and decided it was just a dream for me. ( I couldnt see dropping $700+ on a set up that was so finiky and user unfriendly. You can get 50 out of a T-maxx for $300.

Tha maxx does roughly 40mph as is.....

Siro 3.0 engine $199
Clutch bell and spur gear. $40

$199+$40 = $239 Thats all it will take. And you have $61 left over for a pipe and air filter.

How many RPMs can the Sirio pull? On this one forum, people were saying they had their 2.5 Maxxes going 45+, and outcast (Traxxas, RCCA, etc. / Guy with dual BL Maxx) explained that 50+ was impossible because of the RPM maximum the motor could pull, and gearing wouldn't make the T-Maxx faster because of the RPM limit, or something. Blah, don't really remember but 50+MPH is harder then dropping in a new motor. outcast BL motors rate to like .40 or .60 in an engine, plus a large cell count.

Max RPM of the enigne isnt the deciding factor, its just a variable. You can gear you truck, any truck, for more top end however you would like, thats what the clutch bell and spur gear are for. The Siro has enough power to spin a a 50 mph set up.

Some direct quotes of outcast (Talking about the 2.5):
According to GPS, perfectly tuned its 38mph. They all vary, and some may do 40mph out of the box. 50mph is not possible with a stock T-maxx. You will be hard pressed to pull 50mph with a .21 maxx. Trust me, I have been on the quest for MPH for a while now.

nope, still no dice. We have diferent pipe here, and long straights. RPM is RPM, you can only get so much out of it. It doesnt have the HP to pull the RPM with high gearing. 40mph is insanely fast, I dont think you guys realize that. Buy a GPS and check your actual MPH and you will see what it takes to get 40mph. It took me dual brushless and 16 cells per motor to reach 50mph. It was still no easy task. 31/54 gearing. Each one of my motors is equal to a .60 four stroke. Just think about that for a few.......

engine is tuned right dude. I HAVE tried it, so now is your turn. Trust me, is it could be done traxxas would have 50+ MPH on the box in a heart beat. So, TRY IT. Buy a GPS unit and see what you are actually doing, it will hit you with a dose of reality for sure. I would have never guessed it without running a GPS on my truck. I would be you are I the mid 30s with your truck, the majority of the 2.5 trucks seem to be. Its easy to go from 30mph to 35mph. It gets alot harder and takes alot more HP to get to 40mph. 45mph takes some serious HP and 50 is just insane. If my electric was nitro, it would have the equivilent of TWO .60 engines on it. I am barely hitting 50 and I have 50,000RPM to play with, all the gearing in the world, and plenty of room.
Simple physics. Just think about it like this........The Nitro Rustler hits 52 mph with the same stock 2.5 as the maxx. The Siro has almost 1/2 hp more than the 2.5, nowhere near "real close". So your gearing and RPM theory are out the window. I'm not a big Tmaxx fan so I' not interested in talking it up and I'm certianly not interested in changing your mind about something you obviously have no experience with. The point is that brushless is cool but not practical and WAY to expensive. Geared properly a dual brushless set up and go much faster thsan 50

Dunno about the other stuff, but do you really believe those HP numbers? It's a joke. All companies use different dynos under different settings/circumstances so how is it possible to compare one engine to another (Brand wise)? It's impossible unless you use the same Dyno for all the engines, but that would never happen.

That's why RB Concepts doesn't release HP numbers.

Yes, I agree with you 110% If I'm not mistaken the Sirio was compared to the 2.5 on the same dyno at the same time by some site or magazine during a rating. While I agree the actual numbers are suspect I guess the ratings are good to simply compare one to antoher. Oh well................

If memory serves correctly it's 38K RPM on the Sirio, I could just open up my users manual and check.
