Thanks estang
I finally figured out with the plastic pieces are (wing servo covers) who of thought of course the paint chips off when you cut them along with every thing else. Thanks for the numbers that will help, the wing is the next problem (retracts) probally have to make my own pans and recover the cut outs for retract rails I glassed the inside of the firewall and will need 45mm standoff with the plywood mount supplyed in the kit. the tail heavy condition is not just a Willshobby problem event the build ups need adjustment. did i understand correctly to set the front wing dowel you have to go throught the firewall? (I did notice there are no alignment marks) I suppose the other pins are for the wing joint to hold the trailing edge in alignment!! any other tips you can pass along?

Looking through the manual again, I do not see anywhere it shows that the front of the wing is attached. I have not figured out how to cram the fuel tank in the location provided. It is about 3/4 inch too long to fit in....

I am using a Saito 125 and it looks Way tail heavy.

Typically you have to buy one of those 12" drilll bits .
set your wing in place , attached the bottom screws into the wing /fuse to hold the bottom in place .
Then you mark a place in the firewall to drill thru into in the leading edge of the wing , you need two equally spaced .
Then you add your dowels into the leading edege and they lock into the holes you drilled.
You must take care in this process so that the wing is allinged in a straight manner

Sorry been away for awhile, I did manage to get the crrc 26 in using Evolution 50mm standoffs and the 3/4 ply block looks good for clearance but had to cut away most of the bottom cowl to get the carb and muffler in. The pitts style would have looked better but cutting into the glass knob at the bottom was not appealing. It will work I am still looking for a paint match (the gray blue on the bottom of the wing) anyone got a tip. I picked up some 8" struts and robart 606hd 85 deg. and will have to make my own wing pans so the paint match would be of great help.

FWIW:   I've learned from my buddy that Nitromodels, Chinamodels or any cheap ARF in general, just throw away the hardward and the instructions, both are about as useful as a hearing aid on a blind man.   Go get your own hardware and go on RCU and read how other people put it together... unless you're the first one of course

Sorry for the mix up ldm must be reading too much getting everything confused I also have the Sea Fury and FW190 still in the boxes. Hey Brian I know its hard to believe but that statement has been well gone over read past threads we know there are problems when you buy cheep but willing to take on the adventure hardware is never a question when you buy but expected. Any way got the standoffs and looks like I will clear the cowl now, for those interested used evolution 50mm and the ply block that came with the (kit). First time gasser and not used to the size of the engines I could put 2 YS 120's in the same space... But $$$ in my pocket in fuel price. Some one asked about the fuel tank location I am using a Dabro 16 oz and putting it under the existing servo tray I will need a ply shelf and tie wrap in place. Here's one for the dumb group if you choose to wrap your CDI and find there is too much wrap don't cut you hall sensor off (I did) "it's only money". Not to down about the lose I think there were problems with Crrc Cdi anyway. Wanted to get some pictures posted but camera's broke oh well. Still no one can give me a tip on the paint issue how bout the best kind that will go over the old stuff with curdling or worse. Still working on the retracts slow go some times.

Well I finally flew the zero still a little tail heavy but sweet to see fly, crrc engine ran perrrfectly well worth the money. All I can say is if you have one of these models build it show how much a craftsman you are, seeing this plane fly will be worth every second you screamed and bad mouth the product. It might not hold together as long as a H 9 but you can build 3-4 of these for that price. I am all about new airplanes I want to try them all, (a little like women) "every once and while I have to lift the dress to see what's in there" and love every minute while doing so. What makes this hobby/sport such a passion is that there are so many airplanes to fly and so little time. There are so few of us out there these days, we need to promote what we love doing and inspire others to try our passion as it is contagious.

Keep your landings to one bounce!

How about some details about the maiden or some photos?  I had mine up 2 weekends ago with a DLE20 up front. The kit may be cheap but it flys like a pro. The only down side to my flight was that Dads dog kept trying to chase it as I was comming in for a landing.

I have had mine sitting in a box for a few years as well. The zero does look to be a good basic airframe. I also felt I was not going to use any of the instruction or harware either. Looking forward to getting started sometime soon. Would anyone who has built the Zero or any other WillHobby planes please post some pictures of your handy work? I am just trying to get some ideas and would greatly appreciate it!
Anything would be nice. BTW, the only obvious poor workmanship of my airframe is the nose cone. It is deformed and cracked.
Thanks all!

I built the 40 size Ultimate Bipe they had out a few years back.

As with many of these imported ARFs, most of the hardware and manual were useless. The fiberglass parts were very good. The paint matched the covering very well. The parts fit was a 9. The canopy was an 8. The overall construction was good but as usual, more glue was needed on some joints and around the firewall and landing gear mount. Overall appearance was very good. Flight was like an Ultimate.

Back then, I got it for a song. Things are changing in the ARF world as material cost go up and the Chinese workers wake up to the concept of want.

I also built a modified P-51 unlimited racer that I think was theirs. Same deal.

I would not agree that these are the worst ever. Overall, in the ARF world, I would give them a 6-.
