Status: offline 		The flat twin does sit high up as you say Profmb,ive had a few fights with no cooling issues up to now,probably different if we lived in a hotter climate,good idea of yours though,those petals will act as air dams and will draw the hot air out quicker,

I think that I will put one of our RCGF twins up front on my next 182. I will need to decide which one. Does your CRRC 50 have double rings on the pistons, and is it making ample power for the 182's size? I have a 40cc RCGF all ready to go. Thanx....

It is 55cc single ring on each piston,produces 5.6 hp so they claim,it has plenty of power and pulls the Cessna around on half throttle even less if you want with 22x10 prop,it is off the ground in no time using half flaps too,i have 3 subC batts on the firewall,2 are 6v for radio and lights the other is 4.8v for ignition,if i remember i have around 2 lbs of lead just behind the firewall,hope this helps

Yes thank you. That helps a lot. The bottom line is these 182's are tail heavy. On my last one I had 2 6v sub C packs for radio and a 6v AA for engine just behind the firewall. I still needed 2 lbs on the firewall with a 55cc single up front to balance it out. Great I think that I have found a "New Home" for my RCGF 40cc Twin.

If you look at Ian's picture of his crrc twin it looks like he has plenty of room without cutting the cowl for plug clearance. I don't think the rcgf twin will clear. Or have you already checked that out?
My da50 single didn't quit clear but sense it's pointed down away from the large cowl openings I have to cut it anyway for cooling.
I would have loved to put a twin in mine but I had the DA sitting here waiting for a home and also, If I spend any more money on my RC Addiction the Wife will shoot me!!

For some reason its ok to spend on new High Heels

Status: offline 		For those of you who have folded your original ASM nose gear, an easy to find replacement is available from Robart in the USA. Part number is 159F, here is a link to the manufacturer's website: Robart large nose gear . I made an 1/8" hard aluminum adapter mounting plate to attach the slightly different gear to the existing bolt holes. Since the steering arm is at the top, I re-routed the steering pushrod as well. Perfect mod for an unavailable part.

Status: offline 		Hey Guys, I changed the Pull Pull system too inside the Fuselage. I am sure the way they have it set up from the factory works just fine but I didn't like the looks of the wires and connectors comming up and out on top of the fuse. I also upgraded the pull pull system with a heavy duty Du-Bro system. It added a few more hours too the build but ended up working out real nice!!

Status: offline 		I also epoxied the wing strut fairings in place and drilled an access hole for the bolts. Worked out real good, the fairings fit tight to the fuse and wing every time!!

Thanks Capt,
My vertical stab did not slide all the way down to rest on the wood. I read back in this Forum and some one else had this same problem. If I would try to force it, the ABS would crack forsure!!
So I made a 1/4" balsa spacer and glued it down first then the vertical stab slid right in and mated nice.
But the problem with that is that it does raise the Red and Black stripes on the Rudder so that they do not line up LOL
Oh well I guess the main thing is that the Vert and Rudder stay in place!!!!

Status: offline 		Just finnished the tail wireing, Including the Red Becon and White tail cone light.
The Electro Dynamics lights are supose to be the Brightest on the Market. I have not tried them yet so I can't say forsure. But I do like that the Landing lights come on when Flaps are deployed and the Landing lights fit the cowl recesses perfect.

Hey Cessna Fans, I just wanted to let you know that the Aero Works Cessna 195 is a very  well built airplane. It is 97% fully sheeted just a few wing ribs are not. The Hardware is top notch and comes with a cockpit, lights and a very nice spinner.
90" wingspan 30cc and a pleasure to build.

I am back to building today, I am sure summer must be around the corner!! 3 feet deep in snow right now
I ended up moving the wing bolts inside the fuselage, and with a small piece of silcone fuel line they stay in place!! I don't want to spend anymore time then I have too laying on the ground at the fly field

ASM should have done that for us!! They put this huge access panel on top the Plane and then make us lay on the ground trying to find holes in the wing tube LOL

I guess I should have shared a bit more info on my first one. Sorry Guys.... I did the same thing but I used a 1/4 x 20 bolt and blind nut to hold them on. I also put a block of wood in the area that you are showing the red arrow in the first photo. This would allow me to tighten the 1/4 x 20 bolt down well enough that it would not come loss on its own.
