I have heard that some of the Saito twins are mounted on a single crankshaft, and some are timed to fire simultaneous. Can anybody point me to somewhere to read this info, or can you explain it here? Thanks a bunch.

They all have single crankshafts. What you probably meant was single throw cranks. I know that some have single throw cranks because of the interesting lope they have at idle. The cylinders fire 270 degrees apart. Not sure if they ever made double throw cranks for a smoother engine.
