I acquiredv a Fox Eagle engine. I have been told it is a .60 size engine, but it is not stated on the engine. Is there a web site for Fox engines?
Also, there is no nipple for pressure from the exhaust. Do i need to put in a nipple, or will it run okay without pressure?

thanks
Gregg

Fox has been manufacturing "Eagle" engines since the seventies. Their original Eagle engines were .60 size and had a baffle on the top of the piston. Later editions did not have the baffle and were schneurle ported.

The engine will run fine without muffler pressure, but why not go with it when it is convenient? Adding a pressure tap to the rear of the muffler is not difficult and it will help feed the fuel a little better. However, it must be said that it is not absolutely necessary on the older Fox Eagle engines.

I would call Fox Manufacturing and describe your engine to them. I am sure they will be glad to help you identify its proper displacement, porting type and approximate year of manufacture.

Get ready to give the engine a long break-in if the engine has a piston ring. Once broken-in, they are wonderful engines. Have fun.
