Welcome to the club, I have a 1974 TR6.

Very nice.

Pair of '64 Spitfire Mk I's.  One of them is stock, mostly, except the interior.  The other is a '64 tub on a GT-6 frame, with engine, trans and all from the GT-6.  It's why I'm rolling to Cali in May, to help my brother with the bondo (I'll grind it down with the DA and he can beat it into shape)  then it gets put on my trailer and dragged back here for paint and assembly.

The "gotta get it" car in Tampa had parts I wanted/needed: Original wire wheels/hubs/knockoffs, blasted/painted frame, chrome bits, etc.  Went in 50/50 with another nut^H^H^Henthusiast and he got the drive train and other bits he wanted.

...Ok, sorry to derail the topic. ;-)

'64 Spitfire, the stock one: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=15537&id=539107722&l=74f11febc8

'64 Spit-6:

More pics of the 6 soon, as I'm going out to get her in May.  She'll be home and then I'll be able to complete her.

The red car is on a '69 GT-6+ chassis.

Well, Spits are small enough that you can mistake them for 1:5 scale RC

Actually, the german Amphicar used the 1147cc Triumph engine I have in the stock car, so one could say my car is powered by a boat engine ;-)

I am going to try to get this topic back on track. This next Sunday we will be setting up the boueys and start Finish Line Bridge so we can practice for the next race. There is still a lot room to run in open water if you do not want to run laps. And I am still looking for a place to have a two day Race the last weekend in May I would like it to be in the Ocala area if possible.

Sorry for the de-rail there.

If the other half decides we're not going to the car show in Pensacola, I'll be there to at least watch some boats.  I still need to either scrap the air rudders or work out their issues.

Or both ;-)

Jeff

It seemed that everyone is in the middle of building a boat or had family things to do, so turnout was not all that great. Did get to meet ptr34. Just to let everyone know, if he shows up at a race with one of his step boats, you better look out. Its fast, slides, and stays in the water on high-speed turns. Everything you want in a large-scale RC airboat. Had a great time as always. Thanks for lunch Lester (dad).

I had plans to be there, but work still has me tied up. Sounds like there will be hard racing at the next MABA race. I will be getting boats ready for the Laborday event if I ever get done with this 1-1/2 day job thats going on 7 weeks now. I will talk with some of the guys around here about going with me.
Also guys the 5th Anual Cajun Gator Winds of the Swamp race is Oct 15th, 16th and 17th.
