Hey guys Lester showed me the drag racing setup he is building. It is awesome. I can't wait till it is ready. He has a christmas tree and a pedal that will control a gate that the driver operates. With this setup a driver can actually foul out by starting too soon. I believe this will set off a rush to build drag boats. Wait till you see it. You will be as impressed as I was. Oh and the whole system will be computerized and will give you elapsed time and top speed. Better get em ready people. Dennis

hey Matt when you get that project your working on done, you need to give some thought about coming down south and racing with us. We have the MABA "Winds of the Swamp" race coming up in Oct. Lots of good people and real good food to eat.

Gary Mullens at this time I am not selling the Hull only the boats that I am selling are RTR boats. If that is what you would like to have give me another call and we will talk about it. Most of the airboat on this thread are the ones I make pick one out we will talk about it. I guess someone can put a price on RCU. But I make the boat and I do not think I can do that.

Lester - in response to a question you are certainly welcome to post price info (you are just answering a question after all)

What does that have to do with the subject at hand? Gather all your willpower and just quit like I did. You don't need any fancy "E-cigarette"

Strictly speaking, nothing, but as I met/saw him at the last meeting I went to, I had hoped he'd be on here and could pm me.

I am quitting myself; it is the best thing to do for your health and for the pocket. On the main subject, we are planning to have the track and the lap counting system set up for the next meet. The maba is working on the final design of the bridge, and hope to have it ready to try at the next meet. Everyone is welcome to come.

Good luck with the quitting smoking. It was hard for me.

Have you thought about the underwater suggestion earlier by Ron Olson?

quote:

ORIGINAL: Ron Olson

A friend of mine was working on an underwater timing system like the AMB. The wiring was inside of PVC pipe and could be suspended under the water using buoys. With airboats it wouldn't have to be that far under the surface.
No, the IMPBA isn't using an AMB system but I know that at one time they did have 2 complete systems yet I believe that they sold all of it.

I'd have given anything to be able to see that launch. Very cool, nice pics!

I didn't make the last meet because I was busy with a "just gotta get it" Triumph Spitfire I found in Tampa, and was in the process of dragging it back. Didn't know about the 28th meet until afterward

I'm looking like being gone the 17th/18th to a car show in Pensacola, then again, the other half is looking like she doesn't want to go so...

I've got some linkage issues in my rudders, gotta get rid of the slop so they'll actually turn under power.
