well, what tires are you using? foams grip better, and reduce some of that. You also want equal ground clearance around the car, so you may need to tighten the right side of the car, where the engine is a bit.

Hey, what is the difference between the lightweight flywheel for non-pullstart and pullstart? I know they are different in size. I bought the non-pullstart one because I am using a roto-start. Was I suppose to buy the pullstart version? Was the non-pullstart version made for starter box? Please let me know. I don't want to screw up my car b/c I used the wrong flywheel.

I using the advan a038 hpi grooved tires, it doesn't grip good but i'm a parking lot basher. So you do agree that my problem is caused by torque steer and that it is unavoidable, only manageable right?

basically, yes, especially on a dusty surface.

Maoy, you shouldnt have any problem with either, they should be the same, but it depends on what shaft you have inside i think

ok i was supposed to sell the rc, because i thought there was something wrong with it. Now i understand that torque steer is the culprit. Can you give additional tips in lessening this? Is this inherit to all nitro rc's or is it just with this hpi model?

try giving the car a little more toe in which is like this / \ that will keep it in a line better, and you can see if that does anything. Dont over due with it, just a little should be enough.

Thanks for the tip but I already tried the 37x41 spur gears. They are too small to reach my engine. I slided my engine all the way to the center and it wasn't enough to make the gears mesh. I am using 19t & 23t pinion. HPI needs to make bigger pinion gears.

Also, thanks for the reply Ferrarimk13.

I could have sworn that gear ratio fit no problem, maybe it's because I'm using a golden horizons chassis. You could make the slots bigger in your chassis, then they might reach.

As for the guy with the torque steer problem, another thing to check is all your bearings. Make sure they're clean and all spin freely. A bad bearing can cause some drag on one side of the vehicle. Just in general, make sure you whole driveline turns freely. Check all the dogbones, and drive cups too.
I had a bad case of my RS4 3 haveing torque steer once, I took it apart and cleaned everything up and replaced some worn out parts, and it just about got rid of the torque steer.

One tip I will give you, and most people will probably say it's a horrible idea, but it's worked great for me. I run my car with NO grease in any of the drive cups, none on the dogbones or anything. The entire driveline, with the exception of the diffs, are ran completley dry. I've ran it like that for the past 3 years and haven't had an issue. I even run my CVD's without grease, and I'm still on the same ones I bought about 2 years ago. Plus it helps to keep your car much cleaner.

    Hope this helps some.

I think that the 39T - 23T (2nd gear) with 43T - 19T (1st gear)is the biggest there can be done, by using original HPI products.
