My rs4 is old its a type 3 ss. And hpi is only selling parts for the rs4 18ss, do i share the same parts with this model specially the chassis? IF the bent in my chassis is not that big, does it still affect the handling of my car? I don''''t know what to do i can''''t make the car run straight. It is fine when you push it. But when you actually run it. Its handling is kinda wild for an unmodified car. I have changed to new tires already.

Yeap! No affection at all. In fact if you get the 18ss heavy duty cups it will be much better than now!

I finished my porting on the header pipe last night,I thought my previous port job was plenty but I must''ve gave up halfway through because it wasn''t much of an improvement over stock...now it will flow.I''ll get pics of that up this afternoon along with a few de-anodized parts.

joey. im not sure about the evo's but my .12 type ss doesnt have reverse. and i dont think that any rs4 has reverse. but i could be mistaken

    I see.
Well here's how it looks in my instruction booklet...
The first switch says it a a Reverse Switch (ST.REV), and it's set to "R". When I set it to "N" nothing happens
When I flip the bottom switch (TH.REV) to "N", the car takes off full throttle.
Now maybe I'm just confused about what these two switches are for. Can someone help?

No these things reverse the servo rotation!!! If you reverse it then while braking the throtle applies. That's the reason that when you turn it the servo gets a new neutral position in wich carburator is open...so rpm increase.

yes, its just flips it around, if youre lefty or something, or want to change it around, no reverse though.

Viper, a direct drop in that could kill the .12 is the O.S. 18CVR, great cheap monster.

crazy idea. could i fit a savage .25 motor on my rs4? probably not. anyone got any suggestions for an engine that will give me more power than my .12 but be a direct drop in. or perhaps require minor mods.

Get a nitro star 18ss or CVR-X or an LRP z-.18s. If you need more power get one of them and modify, or simply mount an OS .18 tz on it.

I believe the nitro star 18ss...but I'm not 100% sure about that. You should check the 18ss manual to see if it needs the same engine mounts, flywheel (and flywheel nut) and clutchbell as the ones you currently use.

I have done extensive research and I found that the 200mm HPI Porsche Carrera GT body with HPI's GT adjustable nylon wing gives maximum downforce with maximum speed potenial. ( just remember not to put the stock wing on !) Just some friendly advice, will post more when I'm done tweaking and expirimenting.

The CVR and TZ are very similar in internal design, but the TZ is a little better quality, and produces more power, while the CVR is a lot like the HPI .18s, only a little better stock. The X on the end of CVR or the TZ just means its a standard shaft with a pullstart, hope that helps. I dont know much about hpi engines, but gynaikas, who is gone for a while, does.[)]
