So what you are saying is the rear exhaust header for the RS4 should fit regardless whether it is short or long. I am saying this because HPI makes two different rear manifold for the RS4. They make the short and long one. As mentioned before the part numbers for the short and long manifold are as follows:

    short - HPI86162
    long - HPi86163

I plan to get the high performance pipe from HPI as well to accomendate this setup. The exhaust comes with the coupler, which should be good.

what motor will u use maoy? i would tell you to get the short one, because the longer is wider, and might hit the tire.

phoenex1 , yea you are right. I was trying to avoid that bump but on that day, somebody parked in the middle of the parking lot. I should have just stayed away from that side of the parking lot but I wanted to clear the whole parking lot and that is when I hit the bump. Stupid idea. I might get a new chassis because mine is a sort of bent. It still works fine but I want something lighter and stronger. Any ideas?

ferrarimk13, I will be receiving a Fantom FR18 shortly. That is why I am trying to get the rear exhaust.

Well if you want to continue to play with that bump you might consider something else from the HPI Family Like the Baja SSI just ordered mine and that thing will tame most bumps. HPI is pretty durable so for the money a stock replacement chassis is probably the cheapest.

Good luck-You should post a picture of that bump -LOL

Post a picture of the bump, hahaha. It will be call the bump of many filps.

Ferrari, I have been tracking that engine down for the past couple of weeks. I finally found it on ebay. The engine is a non-pull start. It just comes with a backplate and needs a pullstart. I am going to see if my roto start will fit it, if yes, I will definitely use it as always. The engine is a rear exhaust and comes with 1.95HP @ 39000 rpm. Probably the strongest small block, too bad it is no longer available. I think the one I bought is the newer version before Fantom discontinued the engine (which means it is turbo plug). Damn it, turbo plugs. I want the original standard plug head. Let's see how things work out. Also, it is SG shaft which means I will have to go buy a clutch nut. Any recommendations?

Also, what rear exhaust would you recommend? Should I just stick w/ the hpi rear headers and the hpi tuned pipe or should I change over to inline tuned pipe?
If so, which is a reasonable one in your opinion?

stick with an hpi pipe set, because thats the one that will be closest fitting. The TZ is the strongest small block with like 2.3 hp or something, their not completely true numbers though, and i would of still got a fantom. I was acutally thinking of getting the fantom .12, which is a little weaker.

Hey, the FR18 is slide carb. Will this conversion kit work?

    URL:

Also, I can't fit HPi's roto start nor pullstart on the back. The backplate is smaller in diameter compared to my diablo and HPI stuff. How are the tiger drives? There is one for the FR18. I want to know what will I need to drive the tiger drives (drill)?

Hey everyone, decided not to drop in the FR18. Parts are too scarce, I will just show it off in a case.

Anybody here knows anything about this -> Picco .21 & Picco .26 are small block crankcases. They should work with small block mounts. I might drop the .26 in my RS4 just to see it fly. Please let me know if anybody here has tried or heard of somebody who tried this conversion?

Well if you mount the .26 on it you should be careful not to destroy anything in the transmission due to massive stress!

    PS: POST #3000!!! LOL

.26 arent that great, it would be smarter to get a .21, if you can, and onroad .21, that would be outrageous, but mucho stress will be put on your car.

I agree. A .21 engine will be as effective as the .26 because the lightweight 1:10 cars don't need so much torque. And the .21 has WAY more top end.
