Ran my RS4 today w/ single speed: 25t pinion and 41t spur. Damn, it's quick. Mugen foams made the car stick to the ground very good. However, the .26 engine created so much vibration that my transmission came off. My transmission has loose screws because it is strip so it just pop off. Amazing. Grinded up my gears as well. Wish I had it tighten down more. My spinstart backplate screws also came off; too much vibration from the .26 engine. Love the power, even though it is single speed, the car picked up like the gear ratios were low. Very fast, almost too much. Gotta fix it up and go run some more.

I was browsing around and I think you should check a few of these websites out.

    http://www.rcdiscounter.nl/index.php?language=en
    http://rc-mushroom.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=22
    http://www.hobbyetc.com/shopby/brand.cgi

They're just the basic homepages so you'll have to do a bit of searching

I'd suggest you to avoid alloy suspenssion arms and go simply for the original HPI heavy duty shafts of CVDs. Check towerhobbies.

Hey NitroTherapist, you must contact wolfpack radicals for the mugen 1/8 wheels adapter, their email is listed below. I suggest you not go with the 1/8 foam wheels conversion yet. Kawahara made some 1/10 foam wheels that are 40mm wide rear wheels. They are wider than the 1/8 front wheels and are made for 1/10 scale cars (1/8: 37mm, 1/10:40mm). I am not sure if they are a direct fit in all 1/10 cars but you should contact kamikaze toys and hobbies and talk to them about kawahara 1/10 foams first. Might be a better option.

    Wolfpack email: Wolfpr@aol.com
    Kamikaze Hobbies contact: http://kamikazetoysandhobbies.com/aboutus.htm
Kawahara 1/10 foams (bottom of page): http://kamikazetoysandhobbies.com/products.php?cat=9

Towers didn't discontinue the gasket. Link is listed below (should fit all rs4):

The gasket I am looking for HPI 1795 is the cylinder head gasket with backplate gasket, not the exhaust gasket you mentioned. Thanks tho, I should get some of those as well. Anyone know another gasket that would work as a cylinder head gasket for my 18ss?? Thanks

Don't get the side exhaust gaskets from HPI. IMO they wear out way too quick. Check these out, mine's been in there for quite a while though.

I'm not sure what the cylinder head gasket is, but try looking up "cylinder gasket" on tower.
Not sure if it's what you need, but worth a shot huH?

Ok thanks I'll pick some of those up and try them out. The cylinder head gasket is the one that goes between the block and the cooling head.. Do I even need a gasket there??

Hey slidemaster, you can try these stores below. They are all good stores.

    ultimatehobbies.com
    stormerhobbies.com
    amainhobbies.com
    rcplanet.com

I believe the shims are there for compression purposes. Ask Gynaikas, he might know it.

I went bashing today with low gearing with on my .26 engine. Damn, don't ever go bashing with low gearing. 23t pinion and 43t spur on an rs4 and .26 engine. Wow, I can only say TOO SCARRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. So fast, so torquey, all that power. I can't open full throttle for take off or my gears would strip. I can't do donuts because my wheels will fall off. Too much power. Anybody that is planning on doing a big block conversion on their rs4. Think about it first. Be conservative when choosing your engine. Get one that has modest power (not too much). Also, make your gear as tall as possible and switch over to single speed; you don't want to consistently replace spur gears. This engine will rev nonstop and tear everything apart. Had a blast but gotta get new gears now. Almost uncontrollable.
