The bad mesh might also be caused by having to big of a gap in the spur gears teeth.I think the most you can get away with is 6 teeth but thats pushing it a bit 4 teeth is what HPI recommends.

I am not sure how fast mine is, but noticeably, the car runs fast on straightways because I overgeared it 37T x 23T and 41T x 19T compared to stock gearing.

    Whoohaaa ! ! !

The Fantom Engine website does not contain any manufacturing partners, my assumption is, they don't have any factory, thus, these are subcontracted to other engine manufacturers, probably from OS. From the pictures I've seen from various websites, HPI and fantom looks very similar especially on the carb area.

Hummm, I wonder if anyone have tried to take apart Fantom and HPI SS engines and compare the components, if they really share the same parts.

All I heard is that the fantom is very reliable.. nothing much more special. OS is a very well known brand name.. plenty of other engines out there that are nice. there is like two OS engines I do want though and one Sirio one made by team trinity.

As far as I know Fantom is it's own company and they make some great stuff.I have the Fantom fr15 and it is a very reliable/powerful engine. It fires up first pull every time and runs threw the hole tank on my SS and was very easy to tune.If the Fantom engine and the SS engine are the same they sure don't perform the same.I noticed a big increase in power and torque over the stock engine.I had the 12r SS gear really high and it couldn't handle. The Fantom engine is fine,it accelerates great and top speed is way faster.I'm running 19/41T first and 23/37T second and its pretty fast.I'd bet it could handle more but HPI doesn't make them any taller than that.

I posted this on another thread but figured I'd ask in the Official thread so here goes.I want to replace all the bearings in my SS.Does anybody know how many of each different size I'll need to replace ALL of them? I lost my manual and HPI has the size's I need but not how many of each different size.I thought there was 16 total but I know there are more in the Diffs and the clutchbell but I'm to lazy to take the whole car a part again. So if someone can take a look in there manual and count them up for me and post the number of each size bearing it would be very much appreciated.

Sweet thanks alot.I'm so glad I dodn't have to take the car apart again.Bearings are like anything else you get what you pay for as far as i'm concerned. The good ones are really expensive though.Someone told me in another thread that they use industrial bearings on there car.I think i'm gonna look those up and see if they'll work.I'm sure they will but I don't want to have to replace them again.I was also thinking about getting some Acer Racing bearings because they're sealed and are supposed to be the bset but they are like 5$ each!!!!!!

hey, has anyone ever tried a front wheel drive r/c car?? i was thinking about it on my rs4. [/QUOTE]

I tried to run Front wheel on my new RS4 RTR that i just got, i found that as there's no positive traction on the rear you kinda just drive sideways at high rpms, and the rear end just flops around with the weight all at the back.

I'm completely new to this hobby as of this saturday and i love my new car! I'm already hooking it up with some hop ups this weekend... New exhaust and manifold, 2 speed tranny, new arms and shocks to get it higher off the ground and some Rally style tires as i plan on running it WRC rally style!

I have the Lambo murcialago shell which feels pretty stable at high speeds, but i plan on switching it with the Focus WRC shell so i can enjoy rallying to it's full extent
