Allan Aguilar -> RS4 SS - GPM Parts (6/20/2003 8:10:46 AM)

I got some brand new GPM parts for the RS4 SS's drive train like, rear universal drive shafts and center univeral drive shafts. These parts worked great, but after using less than a gallon of fuel from the time I started using these parts, I noticed that there are already some deterioration on the most critical section of these parts. At the rear universal shafts, the small pin that connect the joint to the axle starts to loosen and already backing off. If you continue running your car at this stage, you might loose the pin, and you can no longer use the drive shafts. Another pin that is attached to the drive dog that connects to the diff outdrive also starts to back off. The pin now shaves off some material from the bottom portion of the diff housing. At the center shaft, the rear drive shaft that connects from the transmission to the rear diff also starts to get loose from the u-joint area. The connecting pins (where the joints are) are still intact, but, the pins slowly grinds the metal material around it resulting the hole gets bigger and the u-joint slack starts to increase. I am just waiting the the moment that these parts fall off or no longer performing as expected, I might go back to the original HPI part. If you think of getting these parts that I mentioned, you might as well consider other better brands even though you will be shelving out additional cash from your pocket. There are some GPM part that works great like my graphite disk brake, and aluminum bell crank, but for the drive train.....better think twice. For the information of everybody only. Thanks
