Beautiful looking plane and packaging. With these gorgeous ARF's maybe it should be called a "Built Thread".

Hey Richard, I have a set of flex headers for the DA100 that I will be using. Got them used from a friend last year to try on a QQ102 Yak my son was flying in IMAC. Looks like they will fit great in the new OMP birds. I'll be building one of the Extras for him to fly this year. He'll be graduating from Air Force Basic Training this Friday and then headed off to tech school until early June.

Hello Mike, that is great about your son. I should get my headers Tuesday and then I can finish the plane. I will need to cut away some of the film at the area that I glue in the supports for the canisters but that can be fixed. The weather will make test flying a week or two away.
Best of luck with your plane and post some photos when you finish it and fly it.

Thanks Richard! I'll be posting pics of my setup on both the Yak and Extra once I start the builds. Just finished one of the Ravens which I'm going to fly purely for 3D. Don't have any graphics on it yet but test flew it Saturday. Holy cow is this bird an animal! Running a 3W85 and Hitec 7955s all the way around.

Yep, got the word from John you called and we've got one pulled ready for you. Wonder how a crack could have happened? That's really unusual.

Hello Mike thanks, I thought when they cut the tube because everything is very well packed including the tube. They use a lot of cardboard and everything is very well packed. We have been getting a lot of rain here in Michigan and I look forward to flying the plane when possible.

Mine is done. Waiting for a calm day to test fly her. Will upload more photos later of the build. Finals are going on at college and school is coming first now! Hopefully next week when I am home I will have time to upload a lot of pictures.

Hello Mike I just received the tube , thanks now when it stops raining I will be able to check out the plane. Kevin I noticed you have your plane with a lot of travel even when taking off. I will set mine much softer at first. It looked real good and I can see you are good. This is my first big Yak but I have other big birds.

Hi Richard, glad the new tube got there ok. I just got back from vacation and am catching up now. Our weather here in OH does not look good for this weekend either!

Kevin, congrats on the maiden! I'm still working on the big Extra for Forrest but should have it ready to fly by next weekend.

Hello Mike do you think I need a cutout on the bottom of the big Yak along where the 2 canisters sit for cooling?  I saw a video on your team flying one and they had an opening all along the pipes. I have about 15 flights on mine but was thinking about it.

If you run canisters then yes.  If you are running stock mufflers the cutouts in the cowling are fine.  Since the weather is getting hotter make sure you properly duct the air through the cowling.  I'm going to add some baffling at the front to guide teh air around the cylinders.
