Do you have a battery charger? And if so, give us the specs and we'll tell you how to use it for your battery.

Also, go to www.rcbatteryclinic.com

No...I do not. I would really like some kind of smart charger...something I don't have to remember to unplug.

To start, you'll need a charger that has an output of at least 200mah. At that rate, you'll need to charge your pack (assuming it's fully discharged) for at least 14 hours.

Then, at the RC battery clinic, you'll see how you can keep your batteries ready using a simple appliance timer.

There are many choices for chargers. Go to your LHS (local hobby shop) and see what they have. Super Nova, Sirius, Cirrus, Alpha are just a few names of some choices you'll have.

What should I be looking for for a cheap smart charger? I want something that I can use to charge the pack up before it is completely drained, not knowing how full it is.

You'll want something with "Peak Detection". The "Timed" chargers are not recommended due to the fact they run for a set time but do not detect the condition of the battery. You can cause damage to your batteries by overcharging them.

I have a Cirrus Cycle Pro from Hobby People. That would be a good charger for you. It has peak detection, cycles, and works on both AC and DC current. This means you can use it at home and also at the field.

Take a look at the Cirrus and also the ones at www.siriuselectronics.com

Good luck.
