Very interesting chat on deltas.I love them to bits and have long considered using a 90 vrdf. Its a big lump, similar performance can be achieved using far less brute power and, utilising a far more favourable wing loading. If you use a fan engine such as the OS the thing needs to be fed-20ozs for 7 to 8 mins .Putting that fuel in means tanks on CG and, therefore hopper tanks. It all is weight.you want high G's-extra weight again. The fastest machines carry the lightest weight-generally.Where does one get an Outlaw and a Diamond Dust, please.Regards Marc Sommer

I agree, Marc, that much smaller engines can be utilized to propel extremely fast models, but smaller models get awfully small terribly fast at speeds north of 150 mph, so the ducted fan .90 might be the most practical powerplant for really high speed experiments. If you can't see it, you can't fly it.

i built a plane around a MDS 38 and pipe, very small jet style, take off was a nightmare, if the throw wasnt superman strenght it would crash, but a super flyer once it was going. that got small very quick, and one time i went a bit far, i could see it ok, but it took forever to get back to the field even at 150mph lol

Hi.
One problem with today's R/Cers is that they are new arrivals
who did not enjoy happenings in the past.
The objectives of your desired craft are easily obtained with
more or less simplistic craft, at least proven and not complex
You are familiar with pylon racing and especially Formula 1 or II?
If not, talk to an oldster who would be aware.
A Form I racer is a neat model which will do all you would like,
flys easily and is powered by a .40 engine.
Pylon people have a ball sport flying Form I racers.
Something to consider?
Good luck,

Hal deBolt
