Has anyone built one? And do you think 2 O.S. .40 four strokes will have enough power for it? Or should I use 2 .40 2-strokes?

bcjetjock I'm glad to tell you that I have one just waiting for this spring for engine breackin . I have two OS 26 four strokers on mine and I think it will fly just fine with them. I don't plan on burning up the skys just fly this baby and enjoy. I also have flaps and bomb bay doors just for the fun of it.

Bcjetjock I used regular bay door hinges and a belcrank system to operate my doors. They open all the way and close very tight. The belcrank system is at the rear of the doors. In the center of the plane I formed a kind of box to hold what ever I wanted to drop. Of course with the markings of the plane I'm going to fabricate some bombs. M A-26 is covered in Chrome monocote with all the markings. I used crome A/C repair tape to cover the engine cowels and fairings on top of the wings I'm in the prossess of remaking the engine cowels caus I found an A-26 with a scoop like cutout on the top edge of the cowel. Also my air cooler fins behind the cowel are also functional. These are tied electricaly to the throttels and when the throttle is closed the fins are wide open as you increase throttle they will close. OF course right now I just can't do the retract system. Not enough time or money plus quite a few other projects on the table B-25,Miss Vintage, B-17,AT-6,and looking at a wing P-38

bcjetjock would yu know where and how much a gear door syncronizer would be. I need one that will open the geardoors let the gear down and then close the doors. I found one but it just opens door but won't reclose after gear is down And I found one on bvmjets but it doesn't tell whether or not if it will reclose geardoors : :

Please reconsider the 26's on your A-26. As far as poop, they
ain't got it. I run one on my slow-poke. It's fun, but as a rudder
only plane, I fly it around to relax as a Sunday flyer.

Back to the A-26 -- I bought a basket case at a swap meet and
put on TT-46 Pro's . After putting the nose back on, rejoining left
wing, rebuilding both wing-tips and rudder-- it was ready again.
Soon to be returned to short-kit form (TWICE). No longer own it
or any other twin engine plane. The 46's pulled it great and the
40 4s would do a good job. The most important trick when you're
adjusting engines before flight is to richen the out-of-sync. engine. Don't lean the engine to match. Spend plenty of time on
ground to let engines warm-up then idle , rev-up then idle to make sure one doesn't die. That plane doesn't cartwheel well.
On my last year of successful flights I was using 15/16 fuel.
Good LUCK
Randy
