Status: offline 		I've got the first production Wren MW44 here, going to be putting it into our .90 size heli.

If it's cool, I'll post progress as we go.

The engine is only available prebuilt and test run by Wren, and is completed as shown. Absolutely beautiful to behold.

Status: offline 		Very nice. I should be on the list soon. Mine is for a 700 Rex but I look forward to your install and experiences. That little turbine needs a Coke can next to it for size comparison. I can tell from the festo fittings that it is small. Thanks for sharing.

Status: offline 		I have always been interested in turbines, but I want them to be more maneuverable then the current lot that I have seen. I have a Century Predator Gas heli, that really has turned out to be a great 3D gasser.

I had heard they had been demonstrating some Wren Turbine versions of them at different shows in Europe for a number of years. So I checked on youtube, and found a number of pretty impressive smooth 3D flight videos by a fellow named Ian Contessa from the UK. I understand there has been the complete conversion kit over there that Ian uses in his now for a good number of years.

I understand he pushes it harder now. I understand there has been the complete conversion kit available over there fro the Predator Gas heli which is what Ian has been using in his now for a good number of years. I certainly think it would be worth getting similar type of turbine helis here. The USA seem to be lagging by a number of years in that area.

We've been using the MW 54 Heli for over 3 years in our Intrepid Turbine. Apparently I've been lax in getting that word out.

This engine is the new MW 44 Heli, that will be going into our 44 Magnum Heli, swinging 720 blades at 1950 HS for serious 3D Turbine Action.

Status: offline 		The Wren 54 also has the exhaust coming out sideways, albeit with a slightly rear cant to the exhaust, but no, we've never seen any issue with the sideways exhaust.

With a 2 stage system like the Wren Heli series or the JetCat SPH5, most of the thrust is used up powering the second stage..  All that is left is some residual thrust, not enough to really affect the flight.

The single stage heli engines like a PHT3 from Jetcat DOES have a high thrust component, and typically uses a Bifurcated exhaust, blowing it out to each side as well.  Not having flown one of these types I cannot say that it affects it or not, but I have not HEARD anyone comment on it.

We flew the 44 Magnum at the Winamac IN Funfly this weekend, putting it through the paces.  Look for video to be up soon.
