Hi all!

I just received my new YS-63FZ today and now I have a few questions.

- Do you break in your YS on a test stand?
- What size of prop do you use?
- Which fuel do you use?

I will run it, but not to "broken in", just to make sure it runs ok before mounting it in an aircraft. Perhaps two or three tanks. Mine don't seem to be fully broken in till a gallon or so of fuel, but do run great out of the box. (63, 91, 120)

Prop small, as per Shadel, 11-8, check the instructions for break in procedures.

Use the fuel you're going to fly with, I use YS 20/20. I know nitro is expensive in Europe, but YS's are built for it.

I usually mount mine on the plane and run it there. 2 tanks, on the rich side should do it for initial breakin. I run an 11x8 on my 53 and a 12x8 on my 63 and both put out around 11,800 rpm.
After the second tank then adjust the low end for a reliable idle and the hi end just a tad rich and fly it for the rest of the breakin period.
It's highly suggested that you run a YS20/20 blend of fuel but a good 15% 2 stroke fuel is ok. DO NOT USE 4 stroke fuel! ( it really likes 30% heli fuel!)

yeah thanks for your replies!

I think I'll use the 30% heli fuel from CoolPower!

My Voodoo will have her first flight on Saturday!
