It was my pleasure having you and your buddy Ray drop by.  Yeah, it sucked that Aeromarine was out of so many parts!  I'll drop by later and speak with Remy about the right parts for fitting out your hull.

Soon as you begin your thread, hopefully tonite, I'll add the pics you requested.

Again, it was good to meet you guys today.  By the way, that HPI gas buggy was awesome!  Thanks for bringing it.

Just wanted to say a thank you to Billy (illiniboater) for allowing me to borrow an inline engine kit.  I'll have two of the RCMK motors in my posession for a brief time so a mock up of inline motors will be in the works.  I may build another hatch mold if needed to accomidate an inline setup.  May be able to work, may not.....just need to see how things fit up.  Findings will be posted.

Very nicely so far....we'll see tomorrow when it comes out of the molds.  No progress on this cat today as I've been working in other areas of the shop.  Should get back on it tomorrow.

Well, a nervous moment for me as this is the 1'st NEMESIS hull to come out of the new molds WITHOUT pva.  All I can say is.....WOW!  Thanks to TR Industries for sending me that box of goodies (no charge) after stripping off the old wax, using THEIR system of polishes, sealers and waxes I'm extremely pleased with these results.  Undoubtly the best part I've pulled in years.  An absolute mirror shine.  No dust...anything, just a perfect part.

What I did to the molds.....

1.  Stripped off all old wax (13 coats) using their wax remover.
2.  Rebuffed with a high speed buffer areas I've found as not perfect from the 1'st pull.
3.  Burned in and coated the molds with their sealer.  This stuff absolutely rocks!  Fills in any light scratches, and makes the mold VERY black.
4.  As told from TR president, apply 6-8 coats of their 102 (regular) paste mold wax.  I added a couple more just because.......
5.  Gelcoat and laminate as usual.

Was a little nervous at first, pva parts separate very easily.  Had to use a few extra wedges and a few quick gentle taps with a rubber mallet and she just literally popped apart!  Slowly looked inside the clamshell hands almost shaking to witness perfection!  Just saved myself 2 hours of time per hull without pva and the extra buffing sometimes needed when that stuff is used.  No more!

What do you think?  Pictures really don't do justice here....hard to see the shine with a white finish.

Updated hatch for more airflow and tighter seating.  Mold is now glassed 6 layers thick and will be ready to remove the plug tomorrow.

Yes, opening up the larger areas at the rear also cutting out the flat areas in the back.

No problem, the mold is complete.  Plug has been removed and mold looks great!  Need to start wetsanding/polishing to get my mirror shine and it will be 100% complete.   Will post pictures later.....just taking a break from powerwashing the house.

Hatch now complete.  Polishing will begin tomorrow.   Here you see both molds together, and two others of the new altered design.

House looks great!  haha.

As for the Nemesis, even better!!!!!

As you can see from the pictures, a perfect pull was done this morning.  The new mold makes a great fitting part.  MUCH better than the original.....still not sure what happened with that one.

Over a 1/4" taller hatch intake, two medium vents on the sides, and the ability to open things up at the rear if needed.  This has more flow now than my Rio or Dreamin'.

Notice the gap difference between the seating gap between the two hulls.  To the left is the first and original, the right the updated with a much tighter fit and extra air movement.

We're back!!!

The vents in the hatch are intended to let air out? If so they are facing forward, is that know to be a low pressure area so that venturi effect will draw the air out?

Hatch fit looks, well, perfect!

According to NVS, he has determined that indeed is a low pressure area.  I still will probably be opening up the rear even more with the increased surface area at the very back.  The Rio has the same intake vents and mine are running very well.  I''ll cut out the very back and make stylish vent louver-type cuts in the flat part of the hatch rear.  Also could add some sort of louvers to the sides of the hull just outside of the hatch.  I can't imagine that would be necessary, however always an option.

One other thought was to cut out a side oval in the canopy  windshield area in front of the carb so air flows directly over it.  Black screened, I think it would look really good.  I don't know.  I have 6 pre-fabricated "older" hatches that I can make swiss cheese out of if I want to experiment.

I figured as much, sounds like a good plan. In the end the fewer holes the better I suppose.

I have 6 pre-fabricated ''older'' hatches that I can make swiss cheese out of if I want to experiment.

Ouch, that's a lot of material and work. Like I came to realize, resources make a huge difference.
